My experience with nofap.

    I'm hoping this will motivate someone to change. So I'm on day 6 now, but it's very different. I have no urges to look at twerk videos and i do not have porn on my mind at all. Basically the first time I am able to do an honest no pmo.

    My journey started at the beginning of March (first time ever trying nofap). I am finishing uni so I decided to focus on that and also work on losing my belly fat to keep me busy (exercise, cold showers, diet monitoring etc). After a few false starts I managed 30 days. However, during this period I still had porn on my mind and I would peek, even watch it for 10minutes plus. I also watched twerking vids and generally replaced the porn. This period generally felt like a day to day struggle to stay clean. I relapsed at day 30, and spent May,June slowly increasing PMO from once a week to 2 or 3 times a week. However, during this period the urges reduced, and my mind is generally clearer. I have reached a point where I don't think of porn and talk myself into peeking.
    What has helped:
    1)Get something to focus on (school,work, learn something new), sets some targets to achieve during a 6 month period.
    2)Take up exercise followed by cold showers. You can also monitor diet etc. This will just keep you busy and healthy.
    3)Have a coping mechanism. I don't have a good word for this, but basically have something to do that clears your mind and ideally makes you tired till the following morning on the occasion that you are feeling tempted. I go to the gym and go hard when I feel down, having a bad day etc. Being sad could trigger you to pmo because you think you're feeling bad and might as well. So work out, you'll be too tired to do anything and you'll sleep well till morning. You'll feel good that you didn't pmo and that you have gains from gym.
    4) Try to keep yourself in places where it is difficult to pmo. Stay with family or a friend if you can etc. When going to bed keep your phone and internet devices away. The effect of this is obviously limited if you are home alone, thats why it helps to be in a place where you cannot do anything.
    If the urges are still strong just continue figting. It may take months before you can do a clean pmo but just trying gets you closer everytime.

  2. Well done my friend! You said you're now on 6th day but when you become aware of what is dangerous for you to succeed, you know you'll do the right thing! Keep it up!
