My First Hello To The World Of NoFap !

Hello Friends.

I am 29 years old.The presence of Porn Addiction in my life is something I recently recognized. Though I am not in a relationship, this sheer addiction itself has made me rely more on imagination rather than reality ! I have been failed 'n' times by my willpower to quit, or limit masturbation and watching porn. Seriously, I want to quit it forever. Starting today, my immediate goal is the abstainment for 3 months. Will be a regular on the forum and hopeful for your support and advice.

Thanks.

Congrats on deciding to quit porn! Good luck on your journey! A few things I've picked up in the short time I've been here:
1) don't focus too much on "not watching porn". that just makes you want to do it more, and keeps it at the front of your mind. Instead, find an engaging hobby you enjoy or something similar which you can pick up, and will keep you from thinking about porn too much.
2) for when you /do/ think about porn, inevitably: wear something to help you remember your commitment to stop watching it. A plain bracelet suffices, but I wear a rubber band which I can snap on my arm whenever I think about it. The combination of quick, sharp pain, and remembering my commitment to myself helps me "snap" out of it pretty quickly ;) (the rubber band wasn't my idea, but I don't remember who's it was originally)
3) install adult-site/image blockers, avoid the "explore" section of social medias, etc., to help you avoid any potential triggers that could give you an urge to watch porn. The fewer the urges, the better, in the no-PMO process.
4) i also recommend keeping a daily journal to help keep yourself accountable. It's a lot harder to fall right back into porn knowing you will have to update your journal saying "i relapsed".
again, good luck with your journey of quitting porn! I hope I was helpful, and not too long-winded. that list was longer than I originally thought i'd make it. :)
I don't know if you're religious, but I'll pray for your success.
