My name is Thom and I am an addict

I'm not trying to get the same "Hi Thom" response one would expect if they attended an AA meeting, but I thought it would garner some smiles.

As the title says, my name is Thom and I am 23 years old. I live in the United States and I have been addicted to pornography and masturbation for nearly 13 years. I have struggled with the addiction throughout all of puberty and well into my young adult life; the latter of which I spent embracing it for what it was and denying that it was affecting anything in my personal life or relationships. I have now come to the point where I believe my struggle has gone too far, and is now deeply hurting the people that I love and care the most about.

All I want is to live a healthy life of pleasure, a life of productivity, a life of freedom. I thought that I held my freedom through embracing my vices, but I have discovered that life was nothing but poison coursing through my veins.

Starting today, December 11th, 2017, I am committing to a 90-day reboot from PM while dedicating myself to working on my personal relationships to fix what I have spent years of my life undoing. I am looking for an accountability partner through here and I would love to have anyone willing to reach out and talk to me about what they are going through so that we may support each other.
