My New Years resolution is to stop drinking any alcohol for 1 month then reconsider alcohol use again at that point. I'm not an alcoholic and drink under control 95%bof the time (occasional binge on a weekend or holiday). The reason I'm stopping is because I felt the same resistance to stopping alcohol as I felt when I used to think about nofap. I would tell myself I'm not addicted but then the next breath, I refuse to quit. If I don't rely on alcohol, why can't I quit?? That's why I'm stopping. My biggest struggle will be not drinking and maintaining a social life. I also have a friend who loves whiskey and we always bond over a couple of glasses. going to be tough telling him that I am quitting but I know he will understand.

I see. Good for you. This entire nofap thing is a process. I recently reset my counter for sexting with girls and looking at girls on dating sites. Didn't fap but knew I was feeding my addictive brain so restarted the counter. I find the tougher I am with the consequences I have for myself, the less likely I'll feed my addiction through triggers. Edging messes with the mind as bad if it worse than fapping. Good luck to you in your new year brother.
