My phone is inevitable

My phone is far by biggest trigger to relapsing. I keep having that bad habit of going to Settings and enabling Google Chrome. You know how it goes. Since my phone is android, its impossible to uninstall Google Chrome from it. I want to eliminate my phone but I need it to contact my family and friends when there is important matter. Any advice to make me use my phone more wisely?

Try a "no screens when alone" rule. Alternately, give your family and friends that may NEED to reach you an emergency-code - for example - two rings only, then they hang up ... and redial then. If you hear the two rings, you'll know its important. More rings means not answering it until in a place where others are nearby and PMO isn't possible.

Alternately, get a "dumb phone" as @scarecrow1 suggests. You can always call-forward your "smart phone" calls to the secondary "dumb-phone" number if you don't want to totally get rid of you smart phone.

There are options. Do something that will work for you.

One day at a time is how we all succeed.

As the phone is a big trigger, I would recommend trying to do most things without it.

If you browse websites on it, switch to your PC instead. Try to keep your phone just for communicating and scheduling things in your calendar, if you use it for that.

In the grand scheme of things though, it's more about how you perceive things.

If it's not the phone, it's the computer, or a show on TV, or even a fashion magazine...

You want to look at your phone, recognise it is both a useful tool and a source or distractions, and make a conscious choice on what to do next.

Thanks for the help. I'll try it tomorrow which is also the start of my new school term.

I Give you a different approach... use Smartphone ... But everytime the urge strikes use 5 sec rule.Count Up to 5 and ask Is it worth it.. Go outside preferably with your friends ... Change to your favorite Artist... Musician or Comedian... If the urge is too strong... just count again till 5 then google search it... At that time just look at the results on Google and count till 5 ... And Ask Yourself.... Is it worth It???
And 9 out of 9 times ... the answer will be NO!!!
Setting up controls made me more desperate and somehow more Horny and I donot know why the fuck I was so motivated to break the restriction.

I have not reset/relapsed on my smartphone for the past year (since May of 2018) because of a program called Boomerang Parental Control App. Though it costs money for an annual subscription, I have not been able to bypass it (provided I gave the password to the program to my accountability partner). I have this app set on the maximum setting, and I have disabled "changes to settings" so I cannot uninstall it or work around it. The app also forces you to use its own safety browser which pretty much filters all porn on the internet. Look into it if you feel that this feat is impossible.

my husband had serious problems with his smartphone, his cell phone is the main trigger for a relapse. A few days ago, he relapsed once again and he had too much frustration, he took a hammer and hit the cell phone until it broke. Today he bought a silly phone but unfortunately the phone has internet access, but my husband hired a service that did not include MB for internet browsing. I hope it does not relapse again. You can buy a silly phone! Good luck!!!

I think the key is resisting all temptation. There will always be a way you can find porn if you really want to. I haven't bothered with any blockers since I started my current streak. The only thing I've done is leave my phone at home when I'm at work (I have a work phone which I would be sacked for looking at porn on) and I leave my phone downstairs when I go to bed. It's just a habit now. If I go to bed and still have my phone in my hand I just think "what am I doing with this?" and take it back downstairs. It probably seems impossible for you to imagine yourself doing these things now, but trust me, you can have your phone in your hand with no blockers and NOT look at porn.
