Good point, and true. But I think the Spitfire and the men that flew them in WW2 are symbols of strength against tough/evil opposition, determination, perseverance, and true manliness that looks out to protect others despite the risks.

Besides the ridiculous problems it's had mechanically, and it's bloated, trillion dollar budget?

I think it's a failure and a joke, propping up defense spending and serving cronyists by allowing them to siphon the money to industries that serve their own interests.

 

I agree with you there! That plane and the F-22 are both "White Elephants" as far as I'm concerned. (Do people use that phrase anymore?).

 

You could go with "WarHawk" or "Hurricane" or "Tiger Moth."

"Koolhoven" sounds cool, lol. It was a Dutch design, used by the Polish aviation force in WWII.

 

OP needs a plane that signifies strength and a plane that was successful.

That's what we are all going to do in this fight against PMO, be strong and successful.

 

Of course there have been bugs, we started the delivery before the test and evaluation phase was completed because our 4th gen fleet was struggling.

Its not cheap but it performs so many tasks it should actually save money once the program is mature.

It hasn't gotten started yet, and it is not a joke. Stealthy aircraft are expensive but worth it. Wanna play target practice for the s-400/500? What alternative would you suggest?

The F-35 has gotten a crap ton of bad press, but its not a failure (as of now, there is no way to know its future combat ratios). The media hates it, but the military loves it.

When it comes to avatars and usernames what we intend to convey is not always what people infer. For example, I have often received the comment that the picture I have is apt because the owl denotes wisdom to them. But that never crossed my mind in choosing it. In fact, symbolism didn't come into my thinking at all, haha! I just wanted something to represent one of my favourite animals such as tigers, sloths and owls. For some reason that avatar stood out. The IGY name is the title of a song where the chorus contained the optimism I felt on joining the site:
