I'm suffering, I asked for advice before and some kind people give me some audio to listen to and other things but it didn't help. I understand what porn does to us and the bad habit with the reward system in our brain; the dopamine. but I can't live 2 days without watching or without masturbation. I am a student and I have a lot of commitments and this porn standing like a thick wall in my way. It's ruined my life. almost 2 complete years are off of my life because of it. when I begin to think about my life and what I am about to do and what next. I may put a plan but I don't commit to it. Porn has an enormous impact on my activities. Almost every day I masturbate, it ends without doing anything useful. Please, someone, send me a link to a program to follow and all ways I can prevent myself from doing this. Everything is out of control. It's a 100% addiction. I can't do normal things and feel happy because it doesn't make me happy. I just need more and more of dopamine to continue living. I don't even talk to girls because I know that I am looking at them the bad way as anyone addicted to porn.
Please please give me any advice, anything practical I can do to end this disaster. thanks

    Hey man.
First of all try to calm down . No one in this forum has stopped from the first as they say 'failure is just the first step in the path of success.'
    Take it easy on yourself.
Dont want to be harsh on u but the truth is there is no program to follow. I would suggest that u start with a small challenge. Three days challenge or 7 days challenge.
Also check different threads in the forum and try learning tips and tricks. here is a thread i find really useful.
    https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/6-years-clean-rebooting-as-the-best-remedy.135983/
Keep urself busy and try to follow a diet and do some exercises. These r some of the tips that i have learnt.
Finally may i ask where r u from?
All the best. Keep it up and if u need any help dont hesitate to dm me. We r in this together
    Cheers

I know how your feeling. It hurts, the way porn just cripples us and takes control of our lives. But bro, you can do it man. If I can do it, despite all the flipping urges and uncomfortable feelings, you can as well. Watch this video, it’s about opiate addiction, but more or less it’s really all the same thing. And really listen to what helped this guy get through his addiction. HE went through feelings like shit and not feeling happy for a long time.

Hey man relax. You're here now. You say that you wasted 2 years and you're horrified. Don't be, most of us here needed many, many more years to become aware we have the problem. You will struggle as we all do, but you have plenty of time to succeed. Think of your recovery as a journey where walking the right path is more important than final goal.

    1. Try to figure out if there is some underlying psych problem that led you to this compulsive sexual behavior, like anxiety or depression. If it is, try to address it. Seek professional help if needed. There is a good chance it will escalate if you only abstain from PMOing to the point you'll not be able to take it anymore and return to PMO behavior cycle.

    2. Make a plan how to get enough of sleep, eat well, exercise daily and get more social (if you aren't doing these things already).

    3. Stop PMOing. Easier said than done, but no one can stop this behavior for you. Maybe stop MB for some period too. You say you can't go longer than 2 days without PMOing… that's actually a good start. You didn't PMO for one day. Just keep trying. I'm not into 3,7,14,30, n days challenges. You can use a counter and set some goals, but don't obsess over it. When you slip, just say to yourself, OK I've slipped no biggy, I managed to go n-days without PMOing, that's an achievement. Now let me see, what caused me to slip? Was it stress, anxiety, visual trigger, something else? When you know what happened try to remove the trigger or learn healthier coping mechanism to relieve build up tension next time. Don't beat your self up, because you slipped. Try to learn from it and move on with recovery instantly. The worst thing you can do after slip is not to continue with your abstinence. Pause will likely cause full blown long relapse and most of the progress you've made will be lost.

Hope this helps. Keep fighting the good fight, you and only you can be the change you need.

Thank you for URL. Very, very informative reading. I've been saying this all along. Porn is the symptom of our problems not the cause (granted it adds fire to a flame down the road). That's why Abstinence is NOT Recovery. I would say abstinence is the first step or prerequisite on recovery path. We need to relearn how to live. Not an easy task.

    Karim,

Hang there man. Are you still living in Egypt? Do they have a version of SAA there? If so it sounds like you could really benefit from a recovery group. We have all been there. It sometimes feels impossible to stop. One thing that may help is to figure out what your “triggers” are. Make note of when the cravings are the worst. What are you doing when a craving hits? What time of day is it? Is it an internal thought or an external stimulus? That way you can avoid any and all triggers and when you feel one coming on you can change whatever you need to change about your environment.

yah I'm still live in Egypt and unfortunately, there's no version of SAA here. and it's difficult to find a group of porn addiction recovery because of the thoughts and habits of society, it's like a cultural thing. anyway thanks for your reply, you made it clear to me.
