Need some support this Friday afternoon...

    Hello all,

    Just checking in after watching 2-3 hrs. of porn / edging with about 2 weeks no PMO behind me. I'm not restarting my counter as I don't feel like I failed necessarily (I've found that this is a totally useless and destructive feeling) and I think I feel strong enough to push through, but I needed to post on here and make myself accountable. I didn't O and for me, although I know the watching and edging itself is extremely damaging and unhelpful for recovering, it makes it not quite a relapse and much easier to move on from. After O'ing, as most of you know, the physical toll (hangover) and loss of energy afterward is devastating and, although I now feel temporarily foggy and overstimulated, I still feel the drive and the "superpowers" I had before waiting for me to tap into them again. Trying to be thankful that I got out without O'ing and praying that I can make it through the rest of the day with porn once again tossed to the curb for the foreseeable future. I've worked so hard and enjoyed life so much these past 2 weeks...fuck if I'm going to throw that all away now. Wish me luck.

    ND, I know the feeling all too well, (the P, the M, but no O). I completely understand what you're saying regarding the "counter". The only person you need to be accountable to, is YOU. Only YOU know why you're here to heal. Myself personally, I'm here because of PIED and the sooner I get my brain back to the same, healthy level as my dick, all will be well. You know what you need to do. Get it done!!

  3. I to know what you're talking about and it's tough. For me personally edging like that has always led me to feel like I have relapsed or I end up relapsing afterwards. To go PMO free allows for a more complete and faster healing process so I'm informed. Just becareful after doing this as you can still get the dopamine high from it. Good luck and I hope you don't relapse.

    PS try talking to yourself in the mirror and saying you're horny and want to watch porn let yourself hear it and you'll soon find out how ridiculous porn really is. I felt a sudden urge just before when I got home and I'm home alone so I just told myself that and that I'm a human being I'm much more than PMO. You can do this!

    The counter isn't the most important thing, your progress is. All or nothing thinking can be a problem 'perfect is the enemy of good'. That said, what are your goals? What do you want at the end? Free from P? Superpowers? (or the confidence and natural responses we are naturally meant to feel)
