Nerve damage from friction/trauma

  1. Be warned everyone, it's not very well known that excessive masturbation can cause nerve damage.

Vigorous masturbation can cause significant damage to the head of the penis. You won't even be aware that it's happening necessarily.

This happened to me. I masturbated several times a day for years but about 10 months ago I lost all sensation in the head of my penis.
I went to the doctor and was told "the sensation will probably come back".....probably.....

Well it's been 10 months and I'm still pretty much numb. Orgasms don't feel very good at all. There is very little sensation at all when I masturbate.

Don't end up like me, if you are going to do it then at least be mindful of how fast/hard you are going. Spare your glans.
    Of course abstinence is best.

Hey, that is a shot into the blue so I might be wrong.
But I heard Paul Stamets talk about how a mushroom called lion's mane can help regenerate nerve cells.
"A 2012 study conducted in Malaysia found that consuming lion’s mane mushroom could actuall regenerate damaged cells from peripheral nerve injury, an injury affecting the delicate tissue between your brain and spinal cord."

So this MIGHT be helping you speed up your recovery.
    I hope it helps!

Yes, this can occur with "death grip", which is nothing like natural intercourse would be like. You also mentioned speed, and this can again be far outside of what would happen during intercourse. What is even more damaging is masturbation where you rub or scrape your penis against a surface, like a mattress, pillow, carpet or whatever. Usually the person is face down (in the prone position) so their entire body weight is forced through their penis. Prone masturbation is very damaging also. I believe recovery from this numbness is possible, but you would need to stop ALL masturbation and especially edging to give your penis chance to heal.

  5. I do recall many years ago masturbating so frequently that I thought I had developed some sort of problem, like it was burning. It couldn't have been an STD because I wasn't having any real sex lol
