Never forget, it is your choice!

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by FightingTriton, Nov 6, 2020.

  1. I am 36 days into my NoFap and there's one truth I've learned.
Porn is everywhere. You cannot escape it. It exists on Facebook Ads, YouTube channels, and Instagram. It's cleverly disguised as modeling, gym workouts, swimming, and Yoga pants commercials.
But I remind myself every time I see it, that masturbation is a choice. I don't want to do it, no matter how much I am tempted.

Keep up the good work fellow fapstronauts!

Totally agree. Social media is flooded with stimulants as you described. It seems to be getting worse as the days go by. Yeah M is a choice but if you are in way too deep you cant control yourself at the site of explicit images. So I thinks it's best to avoid them at all cost.

Very much agreed. If anyone wanted to eject porn from their lives, just research behind the scenes of porn videos. You would see terrible crimes like human trafficking and sexual assaults of all kinds. Knowing this and knowing I don't want to contribute to these crimes, this is what makes it easy for me to stay away from porn sites. As for social media, I haven't seen any "porn" in Facebook ads but I have on Instagram. I go on Instagram for no more than a half-hour a day to unfollow those who have modeling, gym workouts, etc on their Instagram profiles. I am considering unfollowing anyone I don't personally know. For now, I stay on Facebook mostly. Even Twitter has women posing nude on their sites. I reported some but there's too much for Twitter to remove, I think. I don't get on Twitter much and usually when I do, it's to check in with pundits from MSNBC and a lot of virus scientists and doctors. I have a porn blocker on my phone and on my laptop. It helps. I also changed my search engine from Google to Swisscows. Swisscows is a family-friendly no porn search engine.

The idea of choice is huge. As I sit here realizing I want to check out some images or look up a video (and I have actually been wanting to do so every day), I have to remind myself that I have the power to choose.

    One day at a time.

I was 5 days sober and I ruined it today. I just found NoFab and I believe Stories and tutorials or guides here will help me build the right mindset to avoid PMO!
