So as you can see my counter is at 0D 0Hrs :( I've been relapsing once a day for the past week or so after I set my highest record of 12 days without PMO/MO. I know that everyone on here has looked at different ways to stop relapsing and I just thought about this really good idea that I'm going to try out and I hope you guys do to.

So this is what I did....
1.I downloaded K9 web protection to block out porn sites
    2.I made a new notepad/word doc
3.I typed a long paragraph on why I shouldn't relapse and what I should do instead of relapsing
4.I kept hitting enter and said something like "don't do it, it's not worth it" on each line MANY times
5.Finally at the end I typed random letters so I couldn't memorize the password
6.I copied the password and pasted it into K9 to make it my new one
7.I saved the file in a spot that wasn't in the open so I would have to go looking for it so I could have more time to rethink what I was doing
8.I named the file "Don't do it"

This obviously isn't a way to completely stop me from relapsing. I can still get the password or I can go on my phone or do whatever really but this is still a way to give me a few minutes while I find my password to rethink what I was doing and hopefully give me the willpower to stop and put that energy towards something else.

Please like this and comment if you think it's a good idea and if you want to try it. There might be a thread about this idea somewhere else but I've never seen it and I just thought about it so I thought I would share it. Good luck guys!

I like the overarching idea of giving yourself time to make the call. I'll try to offer some suggestions that are in line with the spirit of your idea. In short, I'd make it a tad bit harder than you originally suggested by using some added steps that only take a few minutes to implement (but make it much harder for you to relapse). One of the things about change management is that you want to make the change effectively inevitable and you want your environment to work to your advantage. With that in mind, let's deal with the whole computer issue:

On windows, I would create a random password for K9, but set it and don't store it anywhere at all. Make yourself completely remove the program to get those internet sites back. In the meantime, simply create a user account that doesn't have privileged access to your control panel and cannot install/remove programs. Login and use that guy for all of your internet browsing. You can easily lock things down to where you use the internet to focus on exactly what you intend to focus on from the outset. Do the same thing with your phone and then you really won't have as many options to look at porn. Another tip. Start with a fresh install on your operating system and have it open for others to see (if laptop, take it with you to work). Every time you relapse, make yourself restore that puppy (you'll learn not to like having to do that).

I'd imagine all that might take at most an hour to setup, but could save you weeks (months?) of relapsing if it happened to work. In the back of your mind, you can absolutely get around these simplistic measures, but you really would have to put in a lot effort and go out of your way to relapse using porn.

They say, if you wanna do it, you'll find a way! When the brain craves dopamine you won't mind spending an hour to recover your password. Why don't you just look in the mirror and say, NOT ANYMORE! Instead of writing things down, speak it out in the mirror. I'll repeat the phrase I quoted above in a modified way, "if you wanna QUIT it, you'll find a way"
    Cheers! :) good luck

yeah I know you can just delete it completely from your computer but sometimes you need it for things that arent porn that K9 blocks. Like movie streaming websites and stuff like that

I tried K9 for about an hour and hated it. It blocked too much and when I wanted to look at porn, I deleted it. That was 9-months ago. Since then I have been trying to fix my PMO problem by working on the issues that cause me to want to look at porn. That's the cure for me, not the k9 solution which for me is a band-aid on the problem, but it does not fix what's causing the problem.
If you want to stop looking at porn, walk away from your computer, it doesn't get easier than that.

Hope the relapsing is under control @Mike115.

Hey, you know what is something you may want to think about?

DIG DEEP ENOUGH AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR INNER WARRIOR TO CONQUER THIS THING, DEVELOP A NO HOLDS BARRED ATTITUDE AGAINST DEALING WITH URGES, SHARPEN YOUR AWARENESS LIKE YOU ARE THE FUCKING EQUALIZER AND PUT THE URGES TO DEATH WITH PHYSICAL CONDITIONING LIKE RUNNING OR PUSH UPS AND PULL UPS, ETC., or start meditating if you don't, if you already do meditate, start meditating longer and more single mindedly.

HOW BAD DO YOU WANT TO SUCCEED AT THIS BRO?

  7. Here's what works for me. Visualise yourself sat watching yourself in your favourite fapping seat, the room is dark, screen glowing, all those tempting websites to browse over, but you sweat and smell from edging for hours, eyes glazed over lost in the discusting fantasy land of P objectifying women moaning and groaning at the screen. The truth is it's sad and pathetic and lonely. Is a few golden minutes worth all that. I don't think so anymore.

Thanks man love this idea gonna utilize it!

You know what happens to me I breeze through like 90 days, then I lie to myself and somehow justify and rationalize a way back into an edging session, I glamorize it in some twisted way lol this is the brutal honesty visualization I need to do this thing for life.

  9. Keep it in your thoughts and I think it will work for you. Make it as honest, discusting and off putting that you never want to comtemplate the thought of doing it never mind thinking about it!
