Hi all! I'm new here. I'm a 27 year old male digital artist and big time nerd, and I've struggled with porn addiction for most of my life now.

I just recently, within the last day or so, discovered NoFap and read some of the scientific effects of porn addiction, and I guess something finally clicked, because I'm ready to leave it behind. It's something I've wanted for a long, long time. Now I'm ready.

So thank you for having me, and I look forward to this journey!

Phew, I'm nervous, but in a positive way. This is going to be good. Feels good to have a direction and a purpose.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and not judge you.

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

@CaptainOlimar welcome to nofap. Yes, your life is going to get better. Start your own journal in your age group and record your efforts to combat this and read other journals to learn how others are handling this and you will make progress.
    I wish you good luck.

Thank you! Currently, my strategy is to be mindful about when thoughts come into my head, or when I absent mindedly touch to deflect. I've quit smoking over the years, and other bad habits, so I'm trying to apply some of those techniques, though it's hard because this isn't something you can just not buy. Also, avoiding triggering sites as well, looking away or closing windows when stimulus pops up.

Thank you! That's a good idea, I'll start a daily journal, I'm aiming big off the bat, I want to go all in and try for 90 days. It scares me how much control and chemicals are exerted over my will. I want it gone from my mind and soul

May be a silly question but how would one go about making a journal?

Thank you, I'm taking a look at it now, I agree with the first, it is a war, it is such a battle. Thanks for sharing!

Just wanted to comment on another thing in the link you shared, I think what's changed for me now is that I realize the addiction is malevolent, insdious by nature. Dealing with it is like dealing with a manipulative toxic relationship, I understand that now more than ever before, I'm very excited about moving forward, but also very aware of how hard it may be, or will be.
