New User, First Day!

Hello everyone,
I'm a college student studying Physics in New York City. I'm hoping to find a community here to support my no PMO goals.
I've stopped and started PMO for years now, always justifying it in some way or another, but it has become such a negative thing in my life that I cannot continue trivializing it.
I'm not here to challenge myself. I wish I could say this was just a game for me, but porn has really messed up my connection with others. I'm here because I want my intimacy back. I want to be able to express my sexual energy in a positive way, without it being attached to porn.
I also want the extra time and energy that comes with a NoFap lifestyle, but that is secondary. The most heartbreaking thing for me about my PMO habits is that they've taken priority over the people I love and have prevented me from being freely intimate with them.
This extends to non-sexual relationships as well.
I think there is so much more to sex than sex. The human soul wants connection, consolation, and openness. I feel like porn is an unwholesome substitute, but by its addictive nature it takes over. Instead of seeking out closeness in others, in friendship, I turned to porn.
So I don't want to be an emotionally stunted person anymore.
I'm here not only to reboot my body, but to reboot my mind, and to rediscover what it means to be free with my god given sexual energy.

Hi. Welcome. I recommend creating journal in Reboot Logs section and blogging there daily. As well as be active on forum in other ways. It keeps us motivated and accountable. Otherwise it's easy to forget about it and slip away in old habits. Good luck with your reboot man!
