One cannot remake the brain all at once nor in a set period. If you have been a heavy consumer of artificially hightened erotic material, and you have been accustomed to years of a particular stimulation pattern, it will take a while to reorient yourself, not in weeks, but perhaps in months or years.

And it will come and go. Reflect on your expectations: if you are normally able to reach climax during sex at some point in your life, it will eventually return. Focus less on the physical performance of the relationship: intimacy is the goal. If you are in love with your partner, and the two of you communicate well, emotionally and physically, then perhaps climax isn't always necessary for true communion to take place.

 

You'll probably start to notice changes sooner. When I went completely hands-free, it was around the two week point I started seeing changes in my mood, and 25-30 days when I went back to wet dreams.
Cut yourself some slack, give yourself time, and breathe - you can do this!!

If you STICK with this crap it wont take years...however if you dont gold cold turkey and flutter on and off like a lot of people do, it might. Your retraining (rewiring your brain) i think that typically takes 3 weeks to a few months and if you interrupt that process itll extend that time. Ive been struggling for a few years for stupid reasons with PMO two random incidents of DE...ive had amazing recovery periods and then some stupid relapses. Itll get better in much less than a year, but you need to maintain and continue your course lest risking relapse. End of the day you know you have issues so I think you can continue averaging forward progress

 

what does DE mean? and i do stick by what i have said, i may be young but young just means weaker, bieng a young teenager having to deal with pretty much everything on my own {im too ashamed to tell anyone, except my one close friend who had severe depressiion and he beat it, so i talk to him as he wont judge me or tell others}

Young I dont think means weaker especially with addiction, because you have less years to unlearn than others on this site. It is tough doing everything on your own and its tough not having the experiece others have later in life so that can be burdening. However, having so much responsibility young will put you ahead of the game when youre older.
Also this is why the community is here, for you to tell people and get support without feeling judged or ashamed.
Most of us are terrified people we know find out about our addiction, so being anonymous enables us to seek advice and open up about our problems. Youll be fine kid.
