Nocturnal emission/wet dream. Let's make a list of what increase the frequency.

I wanted to make a list of what can lead to more frequent Nocturnal emissions/wet dreams, please feel free to add in!

Also , I understand that certain people don't think we can reduce/stop this bodily function and I respect that. Personally, I do believe semen retention is possible with practice and it's part of my spiritual belief. In terms of science, there isn't much to back either for or against.

Anyway, on to the list!

1) Fantasizing
I think this is where people who have multiple wet dreams in a week stand. If you engage in the fantasy that pops into your mind, you're encouraging a wet dream to come/even potential relapse. I suggest diverting your mind the very second it pops into your mind.

2) Hormonal change(NOFAP puberty, yay!)

This is my theory, I think our baseline testosterone over time increases (most people engage in more healthy activities while doing nofap exercise/better diet/supplements etc) which over the long haul will increase T levels. Until this stabilizes you'll experience scattered emissions. It's like going through another puberty and I don't we can stop this emission from happening. Once your baseline T levels (not the 7 day spike) stabilize, it will stop.

3) Too much water before bed.

Our body's protective mechanism for not peeing while we sleep is a boner. Boner + moving around in your sleep increases the likelihood of unwarranted stimulation and an emission to occur.


4) Anger/Anxiety/Stress. Emotional management.

In the beginning of your reboot, this is difficult to handle, hell even mid-long term reboot there can be days that are really tough. Meditation is key. If you go through these emotions you get tense, your body is used to MO to relieve the tension so overnight it will do just that to relieve your tension. Flatline/ paws tension is rough. I'm wondering if sadness and depression can affect this as well.

5) Tight boxers/pj pants

Try looser boxers at night. This + some irritation for a nocturnal emission caused me to have another one the day after. 2 days in a row basically.


6) Racy TV shows/movies

As you go along your reboot, your brain will start to unwind to more tame sexual interest for arousal. A lot of TV shows/movies have softcore porn sex scenes at this point. Just fast forward it as it shows up and don't watch something intense that keeps you on edge at night. (Tension build up)

10) Too many porn flashbacks in your mind (so, after a long time, wet dreams come way less frequently)

11) Watching too many sexual content (even hot chicks on insta) or feeling electrized before going to bed (Like you're thinking about that girl, had some online flirt)

Nice share! You're right about the heat and I completely forgot to mention social media content lol.

Also for "Too many porn flashbacks" is pretty much on par with fantasizing. Because when the flashback appears in your throughout the day, at that moment you have control. Either interrupt and redirect with a mantra , something you'll repeat each time or engage in and run the risk of nocturnal emissions or relapse.
 
This is a helpful thread in my quest to put sexual thoughts out of my head. For example, I am on here this morning instead of PMO which was my usual habit. Thank you for the tip about blocking any fantasy images that come in head (past relationships). It is time to put those to bed instead of hanging on to them. They are like an endless source of MO material because they happened to me.

I do read a good book about a technical subject before I go to sleep. This makes my more sleepy. It is a backlit Kindle and therefore does not stimulate melatonin production. I am actually looking forward to a wet dream because it show my seed production is moving from my own stimulation to a more natural state. I do not think tha a wet dream means that harm has been committed, it is the natural way for the body to secrete excessive sperm production. But at my age wet dreams are unlikely anyway! When I was young a boss at work used to call us s***k trumpets lol

I agree about keeping busy during the day, with an job in the garden, physical exercise, to use up energy to help ensure a good nights sleep. also think a good diet is important, feeding your body with the essential nutrients.

Stay away from devices late at night. Do not allow electronic devices (other than a Kindle) into the bedroom. The bedroom should mainly be for sleep, and for sex with another.

Of course, it’s not a spiritual mantra or anything(you can make it so if you like) what worked for me was writing out exactly what is going on (the reality I mean) and be empathetic with myself.
“I understand, I’ve consumed it for a long time, so it’s normal for it to pop up. Just like a pop up on the internet, telling me I won a free trip/money/prize, I know that’s it’s a liar and a thief. A liar because it I’m not actually experiencing what pops up into my mind and a thief because it robs me of my energy, my nerve, my mood (put in whatever is personal to you) . And just like a pop up on the internet, I discard it for the trash that it is.(you can even visualize crumpling up the image that appeared and throwing it into the trash)”

Of course, I highly suggest you write something that is more personalized to you, and repeat it anytime a fantasy pops up. As I mentioned other brothers write it out multiple times in a day as well, to keep it in memory. It’s crucial that you keep repeating it when fantasy pops up for this to be effective in reducing the frequency and detail of fantasy.

I do not agree with this, but you can provide a medical reference for this I would stand corrected.
I have diabetes and have to pee at least twice during the night and I do not have a boner when I do.
Try looser boxers at night.
Better to be naked at night IMO. Any underwear causes unnecessary friction on the penis. Let it loose! ;)

If we did not have this, all men would wet the bed when they sleep at some point in time and most frequently. Also, it doesn't happen each time, i've woken up as well and just needed to pee without an erection. Probably because we wake up at the appropriate time. But if we're in a deep sleep and need to pee, we get a boner. I've woken up as well, with a boner and needing to pee. I have to wait until it goes down lol.
 
TAKING NAPS DURING THE DAY.

I used to get a wet dream EVERY SINGLE TIME I took naps during the day. I also noticed that my dreams are much more vivid during the day which could have something to do with it.
Interesting, thank you for sharing! In my case, this has not happened , would you nap longer than 20-30 minutes? It's very possible that the vivid dreams you mentioned are part of it, I would not sleep long enough to go into a dream state.
 
Well, I guess I'm a bit late for this, but during my time with no PM, I've had 2 wet dreams with ejaculation, on days 26 and 41. And both nights I slept naked. During summer I usually sleep in my underwear, but these 2 nights I was feeling a higher temperature and didn't put my underwear on.
 
12) Not enough physical exercise
I agree. To me it’s natural to have wet dream after no PMO for a certain period, and it happens quite regularly now. But I did read about doing workout helps. I stopped going to gym after injury for almost a year, I guess my body is recovering now and no PMO certainly helps this process. But I suspect my body is also confused with this extra semen and it needs a way to release. I am planning to gradually resume my gym routine, especially leg workout. We will see if this will help reduce wet dream frequency!

the sleeping on chest thing is very true,i was sleeping on my chest yesterday coz it felt more cozy,unfortunately i had a nocturnal emissions late night,actually early morning,it also caused me to wake up late.
