Nocturnal Emissions (wet dreams) with a partner

I have only had one wet dream with my wife. Probably about 6 months ago.
She didn’t notice. And I was able to do laundry soon after.

I still don’t know what the conversation would be like if she caught me. I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

To be perfectly honest, I wish they would happen more frequently. Often I feel so much pent up sexual energy that I’m sure I’ll have one. Maybe there would be some relief!

Instead there is no release and the urges to masturbate can be very very difficult for me to deal with.

This has not been my experience. Either I don't notice a difference or the urge to masturbate or look for porn increases.

That's similar to my experience, it's a full time job trying to keep my hands out of my pants in bed! I'm still fantasising a lot throughout the day - still, I'm only 9 days in!

My hubby got his latest wet dream last weekend, which was the first one this month. He doesn't usually wake up after them but he did this time and said he did feel liked he orgasmed while he was asleep. He had definitely ejaculated from the look of his shorts. He is on some anxiety medication and says gets frequent erotic dreams and his wet dreams have started / increased since then.

Thank you for sharing that. It sounds like (maybe?) you are both at peace with that.
It’s reassuring that my wife will accept it if she finds out … I don’t plan to announce it! I’ll cover it up if I can.
It also sounds like you’re not fixated on his dreams …

I’ve heard a few share about a possible connection between medications and wet dreams.

My goal for 2025 is to masturbate no more than 4x that year and to try my best not to edge either. That will almost surely lead to more wet dreams (or day time accidents) in the year to come.

I'm completely fine with him getting wet dreams and don't mind at all. I personally don't mind him masturbating at all but he decided he wanted to cut back as he was doing it multiple times per day and watching porn for stimulation.

Regarding the medications, these are for stress and anxiety and are well known to potentially have an effect on sex drive, which has happened for him. So now, he really doesn't get any urge to masturbate and if he did, he could do it for over 30 minutes and still not orgasm and ejaculate. This has definitely helped him NoFap and it will be interesting to see what happens when he comes off the medication next year.

How old is your husband? What anti anxiety medication is he on? how long has he been on it?

My goal is to have a dozen wet dreams in 2025. Not something I can simply “make” happen but there are some things that I can do to increase the likelihood. Foremost of all is not masturbating. Which, coincidentally, is another resolution - to masturbate 4x or less in 2025.
Having masturbated just 5x in 2019, I know the key is no touching. I’m an expert at edging myself, but it eventually leads to an MO slip. In 2019 I was single. I have a partner and somewhat regular sex now. This should be interesting …

Bit of a naive question, but do wet dreams only happen if you have an erection? I've barely had an erection in 2 weeks quitting PMO, and I've never had a wet dream.

Thank you for the info! Does fluoxetine decrease his "morning wood" frequency and hardness?
We haven't really seen this for him, he is often very hard in the morning when he wakes up. It will be interesting when he comes of the medication whether his urge to masturbate returns and whether or not he will be able to control this then.

. As far as I know. I’ve never had a wet dream, have always wanted one, and I’m 31, looking for an AP, HMU if you’re interested mates! I went 45 days and never had one, which was my longest streak.

I haven't had a wet dream in over 25 years. (44 now). Earlier this month I woke up extremely aroused, I had been away from my wife for 2 weeks for my job, no PMO. but when I woke up that morning, I could have rubbed my thumb on the head for about 3 seconds and it would have exploded.
That was the first time I have gone 2 weeks without MO.

Congrats on your streak. I started getting them after I gave up PMO as well, around the two-week mark sounds about right.

My husband is into his 5th week now without PM and he had a wet dream last night. He's in his 30's now and says he did get them in his teens but not since. He has been feeling very aroused the last week so this is not really a surprise.

Thank you for sharing that.
I had two wet dreams as a teen and maybe four in my forties (doing NoFap).
It’s great to hear that you are accepting of this and even better to hear of how you are doing this journey with him. You know what he has done and what he is not doing. That’s awesome.
My wife would “rather not know”. On some level what I do with my body is between me and God. But …I find that I really need support and accountability from someone who really wants me to succeed in my goal of breaking free from compulsive masturbation.

Thank you again for your reply. It’s encouraging on several levels! :)
