NoFap and testosterone

Vulkan

Fapstronaut
Many men want higher testosterone, for example to improve performance in sports.
Did other fapstronauts here notice an increase in testosterone?

I got my testosterone value and it is above normal range.
I have no value before nofap, so it could be that it was already high before.

So has anyone compared values before and during nofap? Thanks.

Yes and mine was higher after starting it and my family doctor says that stress can effect our testerone. I definitely believe all the pmo brought a lot of stress because of all the shame and guilt and confusion. So I definitely believe NoFap indirectly help me raise my test levels because I was always so lustful and at a low vibration and low energy from fapping my life force away

Scientifically nofap should not effect your testosterone levels besides the spike on the 7th day. If anything, the rise in testosterone can be attributed to other lifestyle changes you are doing while doing nofap. Examples would be going out more (which means more vitamin D), better diets, exercise, more interactions with women. These things can increase your testosterone levels but just abstaining from pmo will not directly affect your testosterone levels.

Thanks for your answers, I found a lot of data here now:
https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/book/export/html/148

Conclusion is, that abstinence probably does not raise testo, except a spike on day 7 - but as leo da king wrote, we have no real longterm data, there might be more spikes or permanent raise after a longer time.
Interesting is, that ejaculation seems to trigger a decline in androgen receptors.

So that´s how I understand it: When you fap a lot your androgen receptors are reduced so that your body can´t react to all the testosterone you have.

Note the word INCREASE.

I think it means relative to initial levels in the chart you provide. Compare it to a chart from another study measuring testosterone per volume in plasma samples showing it starts restabalizing after about day 7.

From what I understand its is as @Toomuchh posted tied to other lifestyle changes. Doing a NoFap pledge can also help with these however

That would make no sense. Also note that this is an average of the research. Not everyone's testosterone will behave like that.

In fact, they took the average of everyone each day, which actually negates the research. The research can't show any similarities between the group since testosterone is unpredictable.
Maybe I didnt convey what I meant properly but fairly sure what I meant to convey absolutly made sense. The shape of the data it looks like from the chart you provided is almost the same trend as the one with actual measure average values I provided.

The distribution on testosterone levels in men would not allow for 100% plus increase 3 days in a row

Going with actual numbers if one is in the lowest 5th percentile @ age 25 the would have a testosterone level of about 400 ng/dl at day 0 and increase to around 850 ng/dl by day 7 but then restabalize back down to around 500ng/dl by day 10 estimating from:
https://static1.squarespace.com/sta...92639651128/7+day+without+sex+or+masturbation
It does not mean that day 6,7, and 8 their would be a daily increase from the prior day of over 100%--> that would like like starting at day 5 with 400ng/dl to 800,2000, 4000ng/dl respectively day 6,7,8. 4000ng/dl and increasing is not a level of testosterone that would be sustained in a man.

At least from the data I am viewing it shows testosterone with respect to abstinence is predictable relative to an individuals starting value excluding other external factors. Youll get an initial bump and then stabilize.

Long story short Nofap is not a cure for low T like some people contend.

1) As I understood it from the studies, regular fapping reduces androgen receptors. So even if the T value does not rise, the amount you have may be used more efficiently during nofap due to more receptors.
2) We have no longterm data, the studies only covered a few days of nofap and one spike on day 7 was detected. It might be that if the study went longer, there would be a permanent rise in T, we don´t know. A few days of study is not terribly long for reliable prediction about long term development.

You did not actually listen to what I meant. What I meant was that since the research is taking the mean of every man each day that the actual amount of men that will follow this trend will be rare(high school statistics) alot of men may be similar but there will be men that won't be even CLOSE to this trend at all.

For example: I actually took my testosterone at the first 14 days of Nofap(for something else though) My testosterone reached a high on day 2 then went down by day 5 then reached a high by day 10 and then was still increasing even after day 14.
How did you measure your testosterone levels?

Blood tests(I had to have them for something else but he gave me all my hormonal levels as well.)
were you having sex during that time ?
if not, then do you think that sex also decreases testosterone ?

Ok gotcha yep that makes sense I was originally referring to the original chart link you posted. That makes much more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

My overall point is that men should not be expecting NoFap aka no PMO streaks to help them increase their testosterone significantly. Testosterone levels can be linked to move and other health issues so if one is low they either should speak with a doctor about supplemental testosterone boosters or look to change ones lifestyle aka diet and exercise for a larger impact.
