Hey, question for you guys - do you get insomnia during you streak? From like day 11 - day 14 I have really struggled to switch off at night. I am not doing anything different in the run up-to bed - like playing video games or anything. I am doing sudukos, reading and trying everything to get myself to wind down? Thanks
I keep telling this to everyone asking the same question: Sleep deprivation increases the dopamine in your brain. So your brain is playing this trick on you, it deprives you from sleep so it can get the dopamine that it is not getting from the PMO high anymore, since you are now abstaining. Hope it helps.
And I suspect it is the same with anxiety: anxiety increases dopamine in the brain, so there you go: your brain will give you some anxiety if the dopamine is too low. Even panic attacks.
I experience similar things, since day 7 i've struggled to sleep (takes me about an hour to fall asleep). I also wake up several times during the night.
I think, it's because of the habit, that I always PMO'ed before going to bed. That's probably also the reason, why the urges to PMO increase tremendously before I go to bed. PMO is a real addiction if you look at it in this way - like smoking, when you're somewhere you used to smoke.
Wow what a sneaky snake. Yh, thats very interesting, thanks, never heard about that. Had another sleepless night last night. Hopefully it will go soon. Aye, I am currently going to the gym in the morning everyday, has been doing wonders for urges and dealing with low mood. I finish work later in the evening - 8pm-10pm - and I have read somewhere that you shouldnt do strenuous exercise a few hours before bed?
yes, I always used my phone to pmo in my bed before sleep, now I have removed my phone to the kitchen I have significantly reduced urges - the phone is no longer a visual trigger
This is also what I read, you shouldn’t do late sports, because it will get harder to fall in sleep. Well I noticed that this doesn’t matter for me, when I do sports in the morning, I also cannot get easy into the bed. What I noticed is, that a few supplements giving me problems with sleeping BCAA. L Cartinin. Amino complex, and I am not using them anymore, or less and the sleep quality gets better! yeah sport is great for killing urges! My goal was walking for 45 minutes today, for a better regeneration of body and mind. And after I hit the goal, I felt awesome. Then I did an bonus of 20 Minutes. Now it is time to eat something!
I've been waking up in the night, at least once, usually twice. Also waking really early, just before six, then having to get up so I'm not laying there bored.
I had trouble sleeping for the first month. When I did fall asleep I’d wake up often during the night. I tried cutting caffeine consumption in half. That helped eventually.
