NoFap shaming

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by Zen Meister, Aug 22, 2015.

  1. Yes, the Nofap shaming is real, aside from people putting themselves out there on Youtube to help other fapstranauts achieve their goals in the same way, I don't think many fapstranauts publicise their nofap lifestyle offline since its their business and no one elses (correct me if Im wrong) the most I'd think someone would discuss it is with friends they can trust so I know a great percentage of fapstanuats online feel more open to discuss about their problems behind anonymity. But on to the shaming, I've noticed over the past few weeks there have been an increase of "nofap shamers" out there and I'm not talking about the trolls I've seem posting here from time to time but people who argue that nofap is more harmful than fapping, the premise of their argument is that fapping makes you live longer and it reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer (you know that tired old argument that has conflicting info), why are they coming out of the woodworks and why do they feel the need to put men back on the path of self destruction. Basically I don't see these men as masculine infact I find them to be an opposite, in some areas of the man-o-sphere online they like to refer to these men who go around shaming out men like females do as "Man-ginas" and I'd agree cause they sure look like men but they are not acting like men.

How would you go about dealing with them and what sort of documented evidence is there to refute their claims?

People shame others because they have not yet realized the bondage that they are in. Think about many of the stories you see about someone who overcame obstacles or stepped out of their culture's accepted norms. Many people tore them down regularly as they tried to set a goal and rise above. I think they maybe do it because they don't want to feel bad about themselves. If I'm in a room full of people who spent their money here and there on frivolous stuff, but I've spent the last 5 years investing wisely, they're going to resent me because it reflects poorly on them. If I get better, they realize that they are not so well off themselves. In essence, they're just externalizing their own inadequacy. I think the best way to deal with them is to ignore them. There's no big debate that demands that you must tell them they are wrong. Show them they are wrong by living a more successful life!

There idiots. Shows more about them then you. I have a theory I now call the 'free-strike' theory.

Basically when you reveal you are doing something out of the ordinary it gives people a socially acceptable opportunity to shame you. A 'free-strike'. Some people take free strikes and some people won't. Find the people who don't. They are the people you want to hang out with. I find they are often also much more settled into their lives and are also better company.

So rather than feel down know you have now learnt something about these people. They will take the 'free-strike'.

In the old days if you didnt smoke you were treated like an outcast, It was only when medical reasons came about that people slowly realized smoking wasn't so cool after all.

The datas slowly trickling in about the dangers of high speed porn, we guys are just the ones one step ahead

  5. I don't remember myself being that insecure about my choices that I felt that I need to impose mine on other. If don't understand anything I'll ask questions out of curiosity and see if its something right for me rather than attacking it. Nofap is starting to take off on youtube and it hasn't even hit the second stage of Mahatma Gandhi's stages of attack "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.", they seem to have skipped the second part. The funny thing is, seamen retention and sexual transmutation has be practiced by some of the most manliness men in history to channel it into noble pursuits in life, even the Egyptians who were advance and a way ahead of their time practiced it, the Chinese Taoists say their chi energy comes from their life force (seamen) so they prefer to keep their vitality most of the time rather than wasting it. This is a bit off topic but if you watch shows like DBZ you can even see that the energy blast they use (ki blast) is shaped like a sperm which is interesting. The greatest inventors of our time such as Nikola Tesla didn't fap. A lot men seem to fail to understand that fapping to porn is making them less of a man and as men we all have the potential to reach our maximum limit, if there is a level at super human... that should be our target rather than living a life of a weak man by choice. Also fapping and porn is essentially endorsing the pussy worshipping culture and fetishisms currently going on at the moment and that is something no man should part take in.

At the end of the day the man who has no control is foolish to tell a man in control on how to regulate and control, its like a pigeon telling a duck how to skim.

  6. Focusing on such things is honestly a waste of time and precious energy. Giving thought to this stuff is of a lower energy state.

You don't even need to give them any documentation. You owe them no explanation. It's all clear to us that semen retention is the best thing a man can ever do.

Almost about 80% of people are ignorant about what sex REALLY is to begin with, let alone the power of the semen. It is literally not even worth trying to explain this to people. It's honestly like trying to teach a baby algebra.

They are just not ready to understand such mysteries.

  7. you're all right, I was once like them but not trying to shame men for practicing no but it was curiosity and question which ultimately lead me to start it myself, without wisdom and knowledge from Fapstraunauts about such empowering topics I wouldn't be here today. Some people can't be woken up to the lies told to them by western medicine and governing bodies. I'm still relatively new to nofap and you know when something is new to know want to share with others and show them how beneficial is it for them, thats probably my mistake thinking the average is capable of considering valuable information.

  8. The only shame reason associated with NoFap for me would be that someone asks me again about it after I relapsed, but otherwise, I am in no way ashamed of NoFap.

    Zein:

I agree with AlltheRage that you shouldn't feel obligated to give a response to those who are engaged in "shaming."

    1) Why does it bug these guys so that someone, somewhere, isn't masturbating? How weird is that?
    2) Self-mastery and self-possession are not easy accomplishments, but they make us better men.

I don't know if its evidence but I think the following video give a good response to why the argument "masturbation is good for you" really doesn't make much sense.

    https://youtu.be/xhkRbsmCv1s (start at 11 minutes 19 sec)

The title is "10 Myths About Pornography" by a speaker by the name of Matt Fradd. The entire talk is about an hours but the portion regarding the masturbation is good myth is starts at about 11 min 19 sec. He is a Catholic speaker, but I think what he says about this topic makes sense regardless of religion or not. In short when people say masturbation is good they typically always mean ejaculation is good. This in itself is probably right. I mean if men didn't ejaculate then there would be no children. Having sex with a significant other typically will cause ejaculation which isn't bad. However the ends don't justify the means. I.e. no one argues that ejaculation is good so that is why they are having an affair or paying a prostitute (example from video). Most people would say these things are wrong. Such can be said about masturbation. Check out the below quote form C.S. Lewis (also from the video)

“For me the real evil of masturbation would be that it takes an appetite which, in lawful use, leads the individual out of himself to complete (and correct) his own personality in that of another (and finally in children and even grandchildren) and turns it back; sends the man back into the prison of himself, there to keep a harem of imaginary brides.

"And this harem, once admitted, works against his ever getting out and really uniting with a real woman.

"For the harem is always accessible, always subservient, calls for no sacrifices or adjustments, and can be endowed with erotic and psychological attractions which no woman can rival.

"Among those shadowy brides he is always adored, always the perfect lover; no demand is made on his unselfishness, no mortification ever imposed on his vanity.

"In the end, they become merely the medium through which he increasingly adores himself. . . . After all, almost the main work of life is to come out of our selves, out of the little dark prison we are all born in. Masturbation is to be avoided as all things are to be avoided which retard this process. The danger is that of coming to love the prison.”

    - Personal Letter From Lewis to Keith Masson (found in The Collected Letters of C.S. Lewis, Volume 3)

    I hope this helps
