Non-orgasmic masturbation and sexual transmutation

Does anyone practice, have practiced, have opinions, can suggest readings, YT videos or other resources on the above?

I practice meditation and yoga and going down the tantric route seems to make sense to me. I've already noticed some benefits, including:

- increased energy / ability to transform the sexual energy into something else
- possibility to be sexual without the depletion of energy resulting from orgasm
- increased embodyment, grounding and self-love
- porn and similar start looking so cheap and reductive compared to this rich form of solo sexuality that you don't have to struggle to stop watching them

At the same time I think about sex more often than when I was just simply abstaining and it can be hard to master (yesterday for example after 4 days of edging + yoga + breathwork I had a discharge of a small quantity of semen while peeing and later had to cum as I felt I had reached the point of no return).

I am also very interested in this topic! I have a different story. I never masturbated in my entire life. Then last year at the age of 29 I joined a group in my area that does non-orgasmic masturbation. Since then I have gotten into orgasmic masturbation, and am trying to go back again.

I have no readings to recommend unfortunately, but maybe there are some groups you can join in your area.

I am curious to hear if you have any advice on how to get back from orgasmic to non-orgasmic masturbation through yoga? Do you have any tips or advice on this regards?

I don't I'm afraid, very new to the topic and looking for advice...

What if “non-orgasmic masturbation” is just another ploy to justify indulging in lust?

I did think about this, but I think there's enough science and traditional wisdom to justify that orgasm, if not done in excess, is actually very healthy. I have no problems with pleasure when the pleasure follows a wholesome state of mind.

but I get your point that the line can be blurred sometimes.

Edging can really mess up your genital health.
I think this is just plain BS, but I wasn't talking about edging anyway, I was talking about moving the sexual energy away from the genitals and to other parts of the body. when I can do it after abstaining for 5-6 days it feels great, it's like jerking off for hours without actually touching my cock, i.e. while I work, exercise, do daily chores, see friends etc. but it's not easy.

Can we experience wholesome pleasure through masturbation? What I mean by that is when we masturbate we are only doing it for ourselves. It’s a selfish pleasure that we experience. When it comes down to it isn’t it just lust?

You're masturbating while you're doing your chores? I call bs. While seeing friends? Ew.

it's a fine line, I give you that. I see nofap as part of a larger spiritual process (perhaps a bit like you? I may be wrong, had this impression). while there are clear benefits in abstaing from orgasm, masturbation and especially ejaculation, I do think that sexual energy is a powerful and healing force.

so can you fall into lust and selfishness? yes. is masturbation always lust and selfishness? I don't think so. but distinguishing between the two can be hard.

lol, that made me smile :)

what I meant is that when you don't release the sexual energy through ejaculation (not sure about orgasm, this is debatable, I can't separate the two so I wouldn't be able to say) it stays in your body and mind, and it's a plesurable feeling (plus you're super energized and sharp). however it also has its downside, for me mostly that I can be a bit intoxicated sometimes and the full balls/prostate kind of hurt, a dull constant feeling of uncomfortable heaviness. but the energy part is good, and you don't need to edge to get it.

Well, masturbation is a self-pleasuring activity. It cannot please anyone else. Vital energy is being used up, and for what end? What if that energy could be used for self-discovery and development?
Instead of focusing on masturbation, how about looking for a partner and then making love (with the focus on giving, not taking for our own selfish pleasure)?

There is a book regarding this topic, it’s called The multi-orgamsmic man or something like this.
I like the technique to not come during sex. It is difficult though and requires some practice, at least for me. Kegel exercises help.

Doing nofap hardmode means no edging. When you touch your dick dopamine already starts to flow, and that dopamine is the game changer. If you just bust the nut even for 5 minutes, you lose all major benefits that nofap has to offer. This is not easy. Restart your counter if you try to cheese your way to "victory".

I cannot say how many times my mind has fallen into this multi-orgasmic man bullshit. It's just edging on steroids.

To each their own - I am doing it to prolong sexual activity with my partner without feeling drained afterwards.

well thank you :D I have a gf and she lives abroad, so we see each other once or twice a month. obviously if she were here I wouldn't masturbate at all, while going through the nofap journey.

but having said that I still disagree, masturbation can lead to a lot of self-discovery (you can explore your sexual fantasies in a safe space, for example, and it can be a great way to "make love to yourself", get to discover your body), and this is what I mean by wholesome masturbation.

but it can also be unwholesome, just a practice to use up vital energy and/or mindlessly discharge the tension. and obviously semen retention is a must if you want to cultivate any sort of clarity of mind - there is no focus if you ejaculate too often in my experience. this is what I mean when I say that the line is blurred.

yes, that's the type of journey I'm talking about (I know the book but I haven't read it). it's very hard and as @Icewarrior rightly say sometimes it's just a twisted way to indulge in lust, but sometimes it isn't and it's truly transformative and spiritual.

yeah, nofap doesn't mean becoming a monk though... I hope I will be touching my dick until I'm 99, it's just touching it when it's unnecessary or the downsides are more than the upsides that it becomes a problem.

but as I said above, I get what you mean and I agree that it can lead to that. it can be a way to trick your brain - I've fallen into the pit many times too. still, I remain convinced that there is a way to be in touch with your sex energy without repressing it and without falling into mindless, life-damaging lust.

Well, thanks for your thoughtful reply. I'll leave you with this definition to think over:

Masturbation: from the Latin words manstuprare; from manus "hand" as in manual + stuprare "defile" (oneself), from stuprum "defilement, dishhonor," related to stupere "to be stunned, stupefied" (as in stupid).
