I'm curious. I know porn is the enemy here, but is there some kind of healthy Internet content that doesn't classify as porn? Or even just a fantasy that's not extreme. Is there anything safe for viewing/thinking about? I've been asking myself this because, where you draw the line between a porn video with a hand job, and fantasizing about one, is not clear. It's a pretty realistic, vanilla sex act that anyone would perform in real life, so how does that classify as a super stimulus just because I'm watching a video/thinking about it?

I'm trying to rewire my sexual tastes to more normal, realistic things, but it seems that there's nothing beyond sex with a partner that can do that?

Watching two people having sex or performing sexual act isn’t normal in the first place. Because you are not the one in it.

Right. What about fantasizing about having sex with women with normal sexual thoughts? Is that off the table (lol)?

For fantasy, I honestly think it depends on where you are in recovery. Early on it’ll just make it more difficult to abstain. Abstinence from all sexual contact for a period of time is essential. At least 30 days for people in relationships, 60-90 for single people, 120 maximum for people who feel they need it. After that, I would recommend people without a regular partner continue NoFap and work on getting sexual experience with real life partners. Full recovery depends on the weakening of porn neural connections, followed by the strengthening of real partner connections. Once you’re able to consistently have an erection with a real partner, you can begin adding in masturbation.

As for use of porn, or anything like porn:
    1. Once an addict, always an addict is true enough to warrant extreme caution. I wouldn’t recommend ever exposing yourself to anything but in person sex ever again.
    2. The porn industry as it currently stands is so rife with abuse and inhumanity that engaging with the vast majority is unadvisable from an ethical standpoint.
    3. At the end of the day, any time you spending watching porn, or even just fapping for that matter, could be better spent pursuing meaningful goals or becoming more successful in the dating world.
For those reasons I think we should just stay away from porn or any substitute.
