  1. Using NoFap's users' stories to market whatever thing you are marketing is likely violating their copyright to their own content. Just because they posted it online does not give you the legal right to use it. People have a copyright for their content after writing it, even if they don't officially register it at the copyright office.

While fair use for the purposes of academic analysis, journalism, or criticism might be a defense in some situations, using our users' content to market your goods or services is likely a copyright violation that is legally actionable. Doing so is also in violation of the terms of using this website, which is also legally actionable.

By stealing content, you are removing their ability to control the spread of their own content. Often, users want to delete their revealing stories at some point in the future. You are potentially compromising their anonymity. They did not consent to this.

These people are sharing their success of utilizing NoFap's programs and rebooting/retention parameters, not your shirt, app, or whatever else. If you present these stories alongside of your product without attribution, that's dishonest. Your product will fail if it can't stand on its own accord with its own user testimonials.

They shared their story to inspire others, not to hock your wares.

    Stop stealing content from NoFap.

We expect you to honor people's anonymity, as the material shared on this website is very sensitive and private for most people. If you have any questions, get in touch with the organization before republishing user content. Even if you are not legally required to do so, we strongly recommend that you get permission from somebody first instead of sharing their story to a mass audience without their consent. It's the ethical thing to do.
