Numb genitals - very depressed

    Hello guys,

    Sorry for my bad english but i'm french [​IMG]

    I'm 39 and have big genital/sexual problems since i'm 22.

    I use porn for masturbation since i'm 15 (soft porn from 15 to 18, harder and harder from 18 until now)

    Here are the steps of my issues :

    1- no problem at all until 22. Nude women pictures and "soft" porn made my excitation grow very fast, had perfect erections and ejaculations with great pleasure. I was masturbating once or twice a week approximatively.

    2- Near 20-22 i began to watch harder porns each day and masturbate more frequently "thanks to" internet, at least once or twice a day. At this period i was student, was smoking and drinking frequently and never had real sex with girls (for the context). One day i woke up with a strange feeling : my penis was numb, no feeling, no sensation, as if it was "empty" or "disconnected" from the rest of my body. I was very stressed by this situation. I decided to reduce masturbation frequency, but the issue was still there. I began to panic... I decided to stop masturbation during 2-3 weeks approximatively. Then one day i recovered very good feeling and sensations again and was so happy (thinking the problem could be solved with time) that i masturbated twice, one time just after the another, and then the nightmare began...

    3- Just after the second masturbation, i felt something was wrong. This masturbation was made without pleasure, was "forced" and my penis wasn't really erected (still recovering from first masturbation). Then i ejaculated again and my scrotum/testicles became very tight and high, and my penis very retracted and small and numb again. So after these 2 masturbations, i was again with a numb and insensitive penis but in addition, i had very tight scrotum and testicles, numbness and low sensations in all the genital "region" (testicles + penis). Since then, my penis is always very retracted, shrunk, and testicles are always very retracted too, high, and scrotum very tight... It's like when it's cold or when you are feared of something, but always... I feel like if my penis and testicles are always in post ejaculation posture, as if they are always "tired" and "recovering", if it means something...

    Sometimes after a very hot shower, my penis and testicles are less retracted, and more "loosy", but all day long, they are retracted and numb. The worst situation is after defecation, it's like all the muscles are tighting and penis and testicles are very tight too and retracted after peeing or more often after defecation...

    4- I made several tests with doctors during all these years : neurologic, organic, doppler for vascularisation, etc... But nothing was really found, i was just said : "maybe anxiety, in your head, etc..."
    I have to note that the doppler results were showing that even with an injection of Papaverine 8mg (to provoque erection), i had a very bad and incomplete erection... Can anxiety provoque such a thing ? Can anxiety reduce arterial flux during doppler ? I dont know, maybe... What i am sure about is that i developped very important anxiety and even panic disorder...

    5- I had real sex with a girlfriend i staid with from 25 yo to 32, but without any pleasure (no real good sensations), bad or no erections, etc...
    She finally left me, and i think this problem was the first reason... [​IMG]
    I was so sad not being able to satisfy her and not even more satisfy myself with sex anymore...

    6- During all these years, i was able to have erections but only bad (weak) ones, never when standing up, and only with porn and masturbation. And even with porn, the erections doesn't last very long. The base of the penis is still flexible during erection and i could even have a pee in this state, what i could'nt do with full normal 100% hard erection... No spontaneous erections, no noticeable "morning wood". No full erection like before, no pleasure in ejaculation, and as soon as it is finished, the penis shrinks and retracts.

    7- I already tried to stop masturbation during few months when i was with my GF. Only result was nocturnal ejaculations which woke me up and made me very sad of my situation without true sexuality. But i don't remember if i totally stopped porn and visual excitations at this period.

    8- Conclusion -
    I'm totally lost and i need your help...
    I want to test totally stop porn and masturbation and try to "reboot".
    I've stopped porn and masturbation since 7 months now. Sometimes i feel it's better (i have morning wood each day, even if still numb), but sometimes i feel like nothing changed... Up and down...

    What could be my problem ? :
    - anxiety, panic which induce ED and tight pelvic floor ?
    - porn addiction which need recovery ?
    - organic problem ?

    Sorry again for my bad english, and my very long text, hope everything's clear and someone will read it and give me some advices or share his own experience which could help me (same symptoms, etc...).

    Hello. I'm not the person to answer any of your questions since I'm very new to all this but I totally relate with your story. I had very similar experiences at very similar ages. I also went to a doctor and told me that everything is physically normal and my dysfunction is psychological. I hope that avoiding P&M will eventually reboot me.

    I can relate to one of your problems. I used to get really bad cramps underneath my balls. It came out of nowhere. I think it might've been because my prostate was having to work so hard to produce semen. I think you should talk to a doctor and see what they would recommend, because I'm not qualified to give you health advice.

  4. Hi. Welcome to forum!

    7 months of no porn and masturbation is great. It takes 90 days on average for people to heal but that does not mean it's true for everyone. Some people need more than a year. Have you had sex and orgasms during sex during that time? If yes then it can slow down your reboot. So as can using porn substitutes like hot Instagram models or excessive fantasizing. I would give it more 6 to 12 months before I would rule idea that porn is the cause of this. If after that time it still does not work you should check yourself at doctor and see whether there is any organic problem. All tho you can just do it now, you don't have to wait. But definitely stick to rebooting for now.

    Make sure you create a personal journal thread in Reboot Logs section and blog there on a regular basis. As well as just generally be active participant in various forum discussions. I recommend this to everybody new here because it's the major thing that helped me when I was first starting. Just lurking on forums, reading and learning is great. But it usually is so much more powerful to engage. It helps to keep us motivated and accountable when we are active part of community. And keeps this in front of our minds so we don't forget about importance of it and slip away in our old habits. Sharing is also therapeutic. This is a major reason why AA meetings work so good. But that was developed before internet era. These days we can get most of the same benefits online through communities like this. So don't underestimate the power of active participation.

    I would also like to suggest you to look into mindfulness meditation. It has helped me personally tremendously to learn how to deal with urges and triggers. It takes a while to get good at it and notice results, so you need to be consistent with it, but once you do it's very powerful. It has been used by sages for thousands of years to deal with various issues of the mind. And in recent decades the science is also catching up to what ancient sages have know for centuries. Meditation these days are widely used as very effective tool by psychologists for treating addiction and by neurologists for supporting recovery of the brain after physical injury. Plus it is generally a great exercise for the brain the same way as jogging is great exercise for the body.

    Check out this Ted talk on mindfulness practice, it gives a good idea of what's it's about when it comes to philosophy. The mindfulness practice as described by psychologist in a the video can be used by itself but ideally should be used as supplementation to your daily sitting meditation. There is this awesome smartphone app called Headspace for guided meditations to get you started with formal sitting practice.

    Thx for your replies.

    As i mentioned in my post, i already saw so many doctors, but nothing was found, they couldn't help me...

    I'll try to reboot more. Currently i'm around 7 months hard mode.
    Is it possible that a depression could cause these symptoms ?? Or maybe a nerve issue ?

    I really don't understand, i try to analyse the symptoms but nothing seems logic. Sometimes it's better, sometimes i'm really depressed and cry... Sometimes i regain hope because my penis and balls feel more relaxed, and the day after, all the genital region is ultra tight (like hard flaxid and ball sack very tight) and always numb.

    Everyday there are precum leakages... I feel a tension in the pelvic region and precum comes out my penis even without any arousal...

    I'm totally lost guys... I don't have sexual life any more since so many years, it's like hell :(
     
  6. Depression could cause performance problems. And anxiety could cause muscle tension in genital and pelvic floor. Mindfulness meditation has been proved to help both of these things. So, again, try it out.
    Could be as well I guess...

    It does however sounds like typical symptoms of porn use and excessive masturbation. Either that or anxiety. Anxiety can cause you to tense up your muscles. For anxiety meditation is best. But for tensed muscles try starching. Full body stretching - all your muscles. But with focus on pelvic floor stretches. Also look into reverse kegel stretches too. Do these one to two times a day for few weeks and see how it feels.

    One more question. What about the numbness, the loss of sensitivity in the genital region ? I mean my penis, testicles and mostly my glans feel nearly totally insensitive...

    They feel like if i was just having sex or masturbating, even if not, like a constant refractory period of my penis-genital-pelvic region (i'm in hard mode since 7months, no PMO).

    I feel like i'm living in a constant refractory period which never ends...

    Could this be a symptom of excess masturbation during many years ?

    Moreover, kegel seems very weak. When i do kegel, the penis doesn't respond as it was used to before my issues. It doesn't move at all, while it was filling with blood when everything was ok... When i finish peeing, and try to kegel, the urine expulsion (jet) is very weak, and urine and precum are leaking few time after (and ball sack very very tight and testicles high)...

  8. Loss of sensitivity is common sign of porn use and excessive masturbation. Not to say that it is reason for certain. It might be something else though, I don't know. But I would not rule that out yet. Like I said, I know stories of people who only healed after more than a year of Hard Mode.

    If your muscles are weak do regular kegels. And if they are tight do pelvic floor stretches. If they are both, weak and tight, do both. After 7 month of abstinence kegels do become pretty weak. That's to be expected. Muscles we do not use we lose. Just do kegels and it will be back to normal. But also do reverse keles too and other stretches for tightness.

    Thanks, i'll continue my reboot then...
    Not easy because hope and despair are fluctuating one day from another, sometimes i feel like i'm curing, sometimes like i'm regressing, but nofap website helps me to believe i'll be better whatever the time it takes.

    10 months hard mode no PMO.

    Still no real improvement.

    Still genital numbness (penis + testicles).

    My testicles are always rising up, scrotum always very tight, never feel loose, as if kegel muscles were always working, even if i don't clench them...

    I feel bad... Why my balls are no more hanging and scrotum is always tight ? Why my pelvic muscles seem to be ineffective, my penis and testicles are nearly not moving at all when i try to clench kegels...
    I sometimes have morning wood (75%), but genitals are numb and testicles seem cramped, never loose. Penis often shrivel and hardflaccid.

    Can Overmasturbation really cause this ? Can nofap really cure this ? I feel totally depressed, nothing happens with time, as if it was incurable....

    After feeling normal my whole life (libido wise) I went on a crash diet in the summer of 2016 (aged 21) The diet of 1500 calories mostly vegetables , lots of black coffee etc. I went from a normal 170 lbs down to 139 lbs in 5 weeks. About 1 or 2 months into the diet , I got really lean, six pack etc. I was enjoying the look and was distracted with work to realize what was going on. I noticed 3-4 months in that my morning erections were absent as well as spontaneous ones.

    One day 6 months into the diet, I sat on the toilet and tried masturbating out of curiousity, to my suprise I had FULL BLOWN ED, and the penis would not get even 20 percent erect after trying for 10 minutes, and it was at this time I realized my genitals were NUMB like RUBBER. 0 sensation etc...

    I knew it was time to stop the diet, and 2 years after I have little to no improvement. These are my symptoms

    -0 morning/spontaneous erections for 2+ years
    -no feeling in ejaculation, low semen volume and force (a little bit just oozes out)
    -I have a discomfort in right testicle/vas deferns
    -genitals are numb like rubber, complete lack of sensation
    -I can not get aroused
    -no sweat from arm pits and genitals.
    -strange body odor.
    -Cold penis tip
    -Stress incontinenc
    -Scrotum is always high and tight as if I just ran across Russia

    Out of blood tests abnormal was

    DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE (DHT) 220 (300-850)
    E2 12 (11.5-45)
    TOTAL TESTOSTERONE 650 (250-950)
    DHEAS also elevated as well as Liver enzymes.

    Are you sure the diet was the root of these changes ?

    Did you masturbate a lot during this period ? Do you feel the "hardflaccid" penis sensation ?

    I personaly feel as if my penis was "disconnected", as if my genitals was always in "refractory period". My right testicle is always high, as if a muscular tension made it always rise up.

    I feel like if a muscular tension made my genitals/penis/pelvic areas always tense, which would cause tightness and numbness...

    - The situation and tightness is worst : after peeing and bowel movements, when it's cold, when i'm standing up, when i do sport

    - The situation is a little better when it's warm (hot shower) and when i'm in my bed (lying down)...

    How to stop this ? Abstaining solved nothing, just waiting solved nothing, being less stressed solved nithing, seeing many doctors solved nothing... I don't know what to do anymore.

    Hey man

    I literally registered just to tell you this

    You need to do reverse kegels. Your muscles are tensed so look into reverse kegels. To do them, try to push out like you want to fart or piss faster. Good luck

    I already do this, without success...

    I'm lost dude. I don't know what to do anymore and really don't see why it doesn't heal by itself... It's worse that a direct injury. With an injury, you know what's the problem, and what to do or not to do.
    In my situation, nothing is rational and no doc find a solution.
    Maybe i should see a PT for PF, but i'm so despaired that i don't even have the courage... I'm afraid to be told nothing's wrong by docs once again...

    Do you mean ALL my symptoms could be due to PF issue ?

    Well I am not an expert, but I am pretty much sure it would help.

    Are you sure you did them correctly? Do you know the difference between regular kegels and reverse kegels? For how long you have been doing these exercises?

    These symptoms sound to me like you have really tight PF.

    And yeah I have a similar problem, and its slowly improving.. sometimes my errection is better, sometimes not so good.. but I wasn't even consistent with exercises, I was too busy with work etc.. I am also more dedicated in the last few days lol.. but yeah it improves slowly and it helps.. considering that my dick was totally dead.. i am much better now.

    Yes i know what is reverse kegels, but which type of exercices/frequency/strength do you preconize for them ?

    I have an important question : your problems are only on penis or do/did you have scrotum/testicles symptoms too ? I mean i always have tight scrotum and rising up testicles, as if a muscle was always contracting (not a normal contraction as before).

    I feel like if penis and testicles are always in refractory period... Very strange. No more excitable.

    Do you have numbness in penis/testicles/scrotum too ??

    well I am trying to do front reverse kegels, or reverse kegels in general.. later in few weeks or months ( not sure) i may be do some regular kegels too, but for now I stick to reverse kegels

    And yeah, i feel tightness, especially if I do reverse kegels, i see that muscles are trying to clench or contract.. without any reason.. obviously we need to learn how to relax these parts and stretch them..

    not sure about rising up testicles though..

    do you masturbate? do you watch porn? you may be in flatline as well

    I dont have like "numbness" but I am not as sensitive and i generally dont enjoy masturbation anymore.. I also dont watch porn for few years now.. i relapsed here and there sometimes, but generally I dont watch porn.. i can get hard though with porn, but of course I don't want to ever return to porn shithole ever again.


    I just dont enjoy masturbation.. i sometimes masturbate, but its nothing special to me, sex is much better and different, but i need to improve my errection quality..

    so yeah I can say that I am not so sensitive down there..

    Ok i think your case is not as bad as mine... By far...

    I can't have any spontaneous erection. I can only have erections with porn AND with masturbation.

    Sometimes i have morning woods, but the penis doesn't fill completely, and without any pleasure.

    Penis feels disconnected, and always retracted as a child penis...

    And all the symptoms i mentioned in my first post.
