On of the worst things porn did to me is probably that I felt intimidated and thought that this is what women want. I am still not convinced that I was actually wrong.

 

I found out the real name and I had an idea in which city she lived. But I never tried to get in touch, my own values and shame did not allow that. And yes, I do sometimes regret that I did not take action. I told myself to do this last step and then quit everything.

Two things:

1. If you think most of us paid for porn, outside of shelling out for faster internet and download managers, you're nuts. It's the reason there's no money in it for anyone. It's all "free". The only company making money in porn is mindgeek. And that business model is for people who are not tech savvy at all. You're in no way unique. Sorry.
2. Any woman in the business who meets a "fan" is already disgusted with him, no matter what his nice intentions may be, how rich he may be, or how attractive he may be. A woman in the business who meets a man who's never heard of her, doesn't watch porn, and doesn't get turned off when he discovers her background (Like a 0.0001% of this all happening) is the one she will go for.

There's a lot going on here....

• Health issues: STDs are a big concern. Performers are required to test frequently. Tests cannot be more than 14 days old. Any performer who's test is not fresh (14 days or under), disappears from the list of available performers. Performers pay out of pocket for the tests, about $150.00. They have zero guarantee that they will work after taking a test. It's financially stressful for them. Herpes is almost universal in the business.
• I am unaware of anything women need to take. Unlike men, women don't need to take drugs to have sex. However, they are very unlikely to be enjoying it.
• The performances are fake in the sense that it's all staged. It's stop-and-go camera work. A 45-minute scene takes 1/2 day. There's makeup, makeup touch-ups, photo shoots (the "box cover" pics are almost never from the action; 90% of the time the are staged/recreated. The semen in the pictures is fake....) The positions are made to appear "natural", but in reality, they are bending and twisting in order for the camera to get views that appeal to the viewer. It makes the act difficult and unpleasant for the performers, regardless of their libido. (I'd be more specific, but there's a shitload of triggers that would come along, and I'm not "going there").
• I am unaware of a scene being replayed over and over to provide the illusion of it being longer. But I don't know.
• Most importantly here is your interpretation of what women want, and how porn fucked this up for you. Generally speaking, women don't want sex as it's portrayed in porn. They don't care about dick size. They don't want to be jackhammered. Porn addicts, especially younger ones, do tend to "fall in love" with a performer over time. Why? Because men are having orgasms "with" this woman. To a great extent, a man's brain is associating the pleasure of the orgasms with this one person that's "doing it" for them, albeit it's a person on screen. It's natural to associate the pleasure of an orgasm with the cause of it. So, you "fall" for this person. The variable inserted here that's dangerous (and why we are all here), is the unnatural ease of access to these women, and the frequency of the "sex" (orgasm) that's being had. It's what gets us hooked. We're not wired for any of this, and it fucks us all up. Just my $0.02.
• Lastly, "what women want" is as difficult to define as anything. After all, they make up 51% of some 7 billion people. Focus on you being you, and stay away from porn. There's a lid for every trash can. Hang back. Wait. Chill the fuck out. Be patient. Wait for your "lid". She's out there. Giver her a chance to show up. Let her choose you.

So that means that all these women are single of date other people of the industry? That would make it even harder to get out.
I wonder what they do, when their career is over, what must happen around the age of 35. They must be recognized constantly, unless they change the haircut. Porn addiction is such a slippery slope. Luckily during my 15 years or so of porn use, I never got obsessed with any actresses (though i could see how someone could) although I had a few favorites that I liked. I think the reason I never got obsessed with any is because I had solidified in my mind from the beginning that it was all fake and that those perfect looking models were not common. This led me to be more attracted to the lesser known performers, the ones with a more "girl next door look". This led me to prefer more amatuer porn although its harder to find in good quality and camera work. They do get recognized, but it's not as common as you'd think. We're the ones who would recognize them. Not everyone else. Remember, we're the ones who've gone down the rabbit hole far enough to know their names and know we'd recognize them. We're not a majority of people. There are many luckier people who do not have our issues.

I think this is far less of an issue. Bigger names have more options. Smaller ones fade into obscurity rapidly.

 

I met women on both sides of the spectrum. Very conservative ones and those who would propose some kinky stuff on their own and request things like "you need to be a little bit more aggressive".
