Official Trump Rally Thread

For discussion about modern politics, politicians, and political and social trends and policies

  1. It's the guys fault. There never was a market for "art specialists" I did consider future options and salary before choosing my studies and I don't know why I should now finance a guy who wanted just to have a good time on campus. You had your fun first, now suffer.

Exactly. People make stupid decisions when they see someone or something else pay for it, because it doesn’t hold the same weight as getting yourself there. People do their best when they have to rely on their own income (or at least put in work to securing a payment source, such as scholarships).

IMO if poor people really need schooling, and it’s in a degree with demand, then something like grants/scholarships from lottery taxes (which is what some states in the US do I believe) is the only acceptable government payment. It’s not a required tax unless you play the lottery, and we get more educated people. But no, we should be funding none of this women’s studies crap. And the US shouldn’t either with it’s debt, unfunded obligations and C-grade infrastructure, lol. Those should be higher priorities.

  3. I think we overestimate the power of this progressive 300 gender movement, the climate savers and all the rest. This is running on hot air, most of this stuff is scientifically without foundation and will wear off quickly. I'm confident that this will soon be history, and when recession kicks in 2020, then nobody will have a dime left for this circus.

    Two words: economic investment.

Roads are not the same as paying for people’s healthcare.

Roads are an investment made by the Gov’t for economic prosperity. Roads allow people to use their cars to get to places where they can work or spend their money to get what they need. I lived in places accessed only with dirt roads, and I can say that most people wouldn’t bother for anything more than absolute necessities if the road they drive on wasn’t paved.

Also, without roads, trucks wouldn’t be able to access these businesses to drop off their merchandise, resulting in empty shelves. Empty shelves, of course, leads to no sales, and no sales results in a weakened, if not downright collapsing economy.

Roads, and infrastructure in general, are the backbone to the economy, hence the government's investment in them and hence why I stress for better infrastructure. The “healthcare” system (better termed as sickcare) is not. A true investment would be preventative measures, not treatments for preventable diseases.

  6. Yeah, been working in international development in Africa. When you pave a former dirt road, the economy along this road explodes in a matter of a few years.

And yes, here we go. In Accounting you have
    1. Income
    2. Assets
    3. Expenses
    4. Investments
    5. Loans / Debt

The difference between 3 and 4 is, that in 3 you just consume, like for example you buy food and eat it or you go to Disneyland, while in 4, the value remains, increases or decreases but does not disappear.

  7. It is the government's job to protect the citizens though. And saving someone from certain death clearly belongs to that category.

The bottom line is this: the Americans expend the most per capita in the world for healthcare by a big margin (including public spending!). While the results are pretty good, they're not as good (life expectancy, stroke survival rates, etc.) as those of countries like Denmark and Norway, which some call "socialist". Paying more for worse results - the US system just does not work.

I'm not completely sure about education yet, but when it comes to healthcare it seems obvious to me that the left-wing is right ;)

For most of those cases, the USA’s problems won’t be fixed by simply having the government pay for everything.

Much of the US cost comes from pharmaceuticals and medical equipment industries, which have an average yearly profit of ~15% each, and many pharmaceutical companies are government-protected monopolies via the FDA. Democrats and Republicans both collect money from Big Pharma lobbyists to either ignore the issues (Republicans) or force everyone to get into the broken system (Democrats via Obamacare). Either way, the house always wins, and the people always lose.

Having a MSM that spouts our division and doomsday every day of the week, followed by pharmaceutical ads about antidepressants also doesn’t help the situation at all (happens in NZ as well, sadly).

I don’t think anyone wants government-funded healthcare when government’s in Big Pharma’s pocket. That’ll just make everything worse. If this wasn’t the case, then you’d be 100% right.

  11. Something evil is happening tonight. The European Communists try to undermine the British people's claim for freedom but pushing a washed-up deal down the throat.
The communists in the British parliament have forced the government to beg the European-Soviet-Union for another extension, ignoring the people's will of the referendum, now three years ago.
I bet the communists have once again bought up parliament members with privileges and a promise of future good positions in the European Central Committee.

Although my own country is lost and has been entirely assimilated by the European-Soviet-Borg-Collective, I want at least the British to be free.

Pray, that Johnson somehow manages to defeat that devil.

Communists hate the EU just as Nazis do. Free trade and free movement? No, communists want a protectionist state which noone can leave.
The referendum's function is purely advisory. A certain pig lover made a promise he'll implement the results of it and then he immediately broke that promise by resigning. If the current British politicians had any balls they'd ignore the rigged vote completely.
What the hell are you talking about? It matters very little whether the corporate-owned leadership sits in London or Bruxelles. Might as well pick the option which gives you the ability to travel and move without hassle.

Lol, it’s like with Bernie Sanders. Dunno what he is in 2019, but when he was running in 2016 he was a protectionist who was against the TPP (which would destroy the working class) while Hillary loved it. He wasn’t a globalist then anyway.

  14. You man, you seem to be a straight fella, no like those crying SJWs. But I think we have very different point of views. I accept that, but I believe you're wrong.
Yeah, you're right, communists want a protective state which no one can leave. Like the European Soviet Union that does not want UK to leave and wants to punish it for their crave for freedom.
They let no one go, it is already getting hard to get your assets out there. High performance people are leaving the block for almost a decade now, if this continues, they will put up a wall again, literally speaking. Socialism almost instantly turns into totalitarianism. The EU is going that path without a doubt. Which is why I am working on my exit strategy. I hope to be out, before the 2020 recession kills their inflated plan economy. When people start eating their pets like in Venezuela, another socialist success. I hope that the British can make a hard exit and save themselves. And maybe give me asylum when the family haters have taken over entirely.
I also hope, they will be able to defend their islands as they did in 1940.

European Soviet Union? What world are you living in? And about the UK, they are perfectly allowed to leave, only what nobody in Europe understands how they think they can do so without a border. Does America not have a border with a friendly, comparable nation like Canada? Then why can we not have a border with the UK? Essentially this is the remaining discussion point; the UK does not want to have a border in Ireland, but according to us "sovjets" that is only acceptable if they conform to EU regulations; otherwise we want a border with normal checks. Boris Johnson is throwing a tantrum about this point because he needs the support of the Northen Irish party, but he is not providing any convincing arguments. And power politics do not work if you are the smaller party.

  16. Then let the border be. Johnson is OK with the hard exit with a border. They are better off with that solution than this deal that technically equals to staying in the European Soviet Union.
Now I think, it is naive to think that no one in the EU put pressure on the members of parliament in the last days. That they EU apparatchiks just "observed". Do you believe that?

Yes, I believe they just observed. Everybody knows that getting involved will just backfire, and there are also more and more people in the other EU countries that are getting sick and tired of English whining and just want them gone (for instance Macron). Not me, I used to live in England as a child and I love the country.

  18. Paul, I think very differently than you. And you know what? This forum is not about that. I have lost too much time complaining on politics and this pointless topic pulls me back in every time I am exposed to it. Not much better than porn.
I did not come here for this. This is it for me. Have a nice day.

Trump is a racist, rapist and a thug. I think it's extremely sad that individuals like yourself support him. Blind nationalism destroys lives and kills people. When Trump supporters shoot you to death In a mall you'll see what I mean.
