Ogling isn't bringing me out of flatline...

I am older like you and have been addicted to PMO for many years. The flatline is disconcerting but a necessary step to overcoming the addiction and making a good recovery.
I don't think or even want to be like I was at 20 years old, but I would like to believe that I can recover some semblance of a normal social life before I have to go.

@FlatlineFred This is a problem that keeps coming up: "I'm not getting aroused by looking at women anymore." I don't think it's normal to become aroused by fully clothed women in a non-sexual context. Simply put, not being horny all the time is a good thing! We're so used to porn-induced hyper-sexuality that when our bodies start to function normally, we feel like there's something wrong with us. This couldn't be further from the truth. How can you look at a woman as anything more than a sex object when every time you look at one you get aroused? The key here is to take advantage of this cooling off time - this flatline - to get to know various women on a deeper, more intimate, more human level.

Everything will work just fine "when the time comes." Don't worry about it!

Flatline is a healing break from sex. You go through it until it finishes, you do not try to speed it up or bypass it. If you will relax and enjoy a non-sexual life while you heal, you will enjoy more complete healing. You can consider it a vacation from having to perform sexually. You will know when flatline is over. There will be no doubt, and you will be free to choose sex and be capable of performing appropriately.
