On my way to recovery

Discussion in 'New to NoFap' started by green lion eating the sun, Apr 14, 2017.

  1. Hi,
I found this forum last summer by accident and I was overwhelmed by the fact that I could find people like me, that were feeling what I was feeling and I decided to join last month. I always wanted to share my thoughts about my addiction to others that could truly understand the kind of hell I was going through

I am a porn and sex addict in my mid 20s in recovery. It's been more than a month that I stopped watching porn and this is great

Last time I had sex was with my ex guy 4 months ago then he left me in a traumatic way that still makes me feel really heartbroken and I still cry about it so in some ways it's good because I don't feel tempted even in a stupid rebound and have sex just to give me depression and making me feel more alone

This is my story, tried to sum it up :) I hope this forum will help me

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

  3. Thank you :) Well I am using an app called R Tribe that gave me the chance to be constant in my progress, I put my thoughts there everyday. It allows me to not give up in moments when I feel down and hopeless. I knew that the only way I could save myself was with abstinence especially for sex.

I avoid music that could trigger desire for it, you know sexy songs, movies, tv shows with sex in it. I avoid looking at guys and it's working fine so far. I have no sexual desire in this period, sex is not on my mind. My last relationship really hurt me. I tried at first to find other guys to lessen the pain but I am proud that I resisted and decided to deal with it by myself

I am living my life in celibacy (4 years +) so I understand the power of abstaining. I too am on r|tribe so I understand the added value of daily accountability.

Check out In Case You Didn't Know for strategies and tips which may help you along your journey.

Welcome to the community. I have found it to be immensely helpful. Tried resisting pmo umpteen times only to fail within few days. Ever since I found this community, pmo has been a thing of the past. The feeling that I also have the responsibility of keeping everyone's morale up helps me to resist all urges.
Cheers to your abstinence. Stay clean.

  6. Thanks :emoji_grinning: keep it up you too:emoji_clap:
