One Cool Idea

This may not be a tip so much as an idea for a cool thing to do. It occurred to me yesterday to seek out some charity that helps women who have been sexually victimized and donate to it. I found this group "Breaking Free" (breakingfree.net) that helps women who fell into a life of prostitution and raises awareness about the sexual victimization of women.

This addiction has made me do things that harm myself and others. When I give to some charity specifically to try to make amends for participating in the sex industry (in my case, porn), the addiction is actually spurring me to make a positive change in the world. It turns something bad into something good.

And it's harder to go back to objectifying women when I'm trying to make a positive difference in the lives of women who have been objectified.
