One Month - 30 Cold Showers

    Only about a week left to go, 22/30. Thinking about making another thread to instill some more habits into my daily routine.

    Finishing the challenge by next Saturday 23/30. My urge to relapse has increased recently, not really sure why. Pushing through, no peeking, no edging, nothing.

    Did take a cold shower yesterday, just didn't post. I feel like since I caught covid the water feels colder, even when it isn't on the coldest setting. Symptoms are gone and I am no longer contagious, so at least I am immune to getting it again for a period of time, 24/30.

    Just took a cold shower, put it on the coldest setting today for the first time in awhile, felt good 25/30.

    I'm thinking about sticking with cold showers for some time after this. While I have seen some great benefits, I feel that 30 days is not enough to see what it truly has to offer, 26/30.

    Yes definitely keep it going. No reason to stop at 30. I'm closing in on 90 days of cold showers combined with NoFap and feel like I'm seeing and feeling benefits almost every day. And PMO had been part of my life for literally decades so if these measures can help heal me they can help anyone.

    Took a cold shower earlier, feels like my body is getting used to it again (covid threw me off a bit), 27/30.

    Forgot to post again, but I did take a shower yesterday and will be taking one tonight 28/30.

    Starting to get into the routine of things again since I've had covid. Working out, eating more and staying off the internet less. I think after 90 days I will return to this forum, but not everyday like I do now. I want to put into practice my confidence and new attitude towards things. I started using bumble again, since I can't really do too much right now but I won't be relying on it. Only 15 minutes a day, no more no less that way I don't spend all day swiping lol 29/30.

    I relapsed 3x last night, twice to Instagram, once to fantasy (it wasn't porn or nudity just girls on my feed still not good by any means but at least there wasn't any nudity). I finished the challenge 30/30 some things to note:

    I am doing a dopamine detox: Deleted Instagram, YouTube, and will be putting my computer in my living room every night before I go to bed. I had a huge urge to watch porn last night and while I didn't do it I need to build up my discipline to back where it was before.

    When I get an urge while I'm trying to go to sleep (this is when I struggle the most) I will get up and draw or write down how I feel. I feel that while not acting on the urge is good, thinking of other things ends up making me think about it and I had at least a few times when I couldn't stop thinking about the urges which is not good.

    I will also stay off this site for a month. I really like this community, but some of the things people post on here are triggering and I feel that the posts and just general urges built up to a point where I couldn't handle it anymore.

    I will continue cold showers. I feel they have boosted my confidence and have been messaging people on bumble where as before I was afraid to do it (I generally deal better with girls in person). I also will not use bumble for more than 10 minutes, I deleted tinder since its a lot more triggering. Bumble may slow down my progress a bit but I haven't indulged in it and feel it is good practice for now until I start going out with my friends again.

    I will spend less time in my room and stay in other parts of the house for now since I am experiencing a chaser affect.

    I got rid of the counter. Counting days makes it feel less natural like I'm forcing it. Instead I created a spreadsheet where I hid the date and will put the amount of times I relapsed in a day. The goal is to not relapse at all (especially not to porn) and thus I have made two columns: one for p one for m. While I was craving porn last night I do not want to relapse to it, and if I do relapse I would rather it be to thoughts and nothing else. That is why I will put my headphones and laptop out of my room, and my door will stay open the entire day.

    This is nobody's fault but my own, and thus I must double down, thanks to everyone who posted here.

    I will give an update a month from now, see you guys on the other side.
