One year and no sex drive

    As @Thechosenone indicated, I agree with going heavy on the nuts. In my case, almonds are the best help for erectile capacity by a long shot due to the high L-arginine content. Literally from eating them one night, I notice a direct and very positive difference in blood flow the very next day. Unmistakable result that is replicated nearly every time I try it. All the other common nuts are super healthy as well and it is harder for me to put my finger on the many positive benefits they have (so many minerals/antioxidants). The magnesium content of some of them directly help my heart rhythm as well which is great and the fats end up giving a bit of a boost in testosterone. There are also studies that show despite the absurdly high caloric content, that you are likely to lose weight including them in your diet.

    Like you stated a balance of fatty acid types is a much healthier choice than overloading on n-6 style fatty acids or rocking too many saturates. I find I get much stronger morning wood when I drink substantial milk at night though (skim in my case). I think that is because I love milk and drink very large quantities when I do have it in my diet. The whole hydration issues creates the wood plus the happy relaxed feeling of higher carbohydrates and sufficient kilocalories tend to put me in a more sexually ready state (I go into wolf mode on hypocaloric diets). I bet others could get the same result by drinking a healthier drink at night in large quantities (even water most likely). I am betting on it being the full bladder effect etc.

    Also double check and make sure you are getting enough Zinc in your diet. That is another thing that seems to give me a direct boost in mental libido (I combined with Magnesium each night for overall better sleep).

    I've nothing against vegan but studies shows they have not enought taurine, carnitine, creatine, arginine, citruline....
    In fact all the amino acids who helps to have good libido, strong erection, and good sperm.
    Those things are in meat.
    I've agree with vegan for conviction but in healthy view, meat is usefull for essentials amino acid and even non essentials with unknown effect for the scientist community.

    I'm thinking about taking something for my anxiety again. I'm just afraid it will effect my erections. I've heard BuSpar is good for General Anxiety Disorder and doesn't effect erections. I was on Zoloft and I didn't like being on that. I'm not depressed and I don't wanna take benzos. Have you heard anything about BuSpar at all or does your meds effect your sex life if I may ask?

    Since I broke my leg a few years ago, I develloped aversion against paracetamol. Although I still used drugs after I broke my leg (The "funny" ones) I think the reason I'm totally sober today is because of my broken leg. (I just realize this :))

    My mom got anti-depressants when my stepdad died also a few years ago. They knew each other for a lifetime and at a certain point the spark hit on. Their romance was going on for 10 months.

    She really wanted to die, that time was probably the hardest of all times I have faced.

    She got anti-depressants, she wanted to smile again. Now my opinion was that it only made her a fake person, She did got happier but in a very strange way. She used them for about half a month or so and got back up after that. But only recently she is really wanting to live again. Which we all are grateful for.

    Now correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you mentioned that you were almost a year in and that you're also using meds for a year.

    What if? you were depressed because of porn and masturbation. You got your anti-depressants and they are now only holding you back. Making you numb so to speak, how about your subconscious thinking you're a fake because you get happy with medicine. You're taking medicine doesn't a sick person take those? While the real cause for your depression may be long gone your actions keep it alive.

    Not to forget that when you quit something like it you experience withdrawal symptoms.

    I assume you don't intend to use anti-depressants the rest of your life.

    Well, you know yourself, you know your own happiness and the child within yourself.

    I can't do anything but share my view on your situation and I want you to think about it and do with it whatever suits you best.

    Goodluck with your decision.

    Remember that porn is accepted in our society just the same as anti-depressants are. They fix something temporary.

    There are many different medical treatments that are effective against anxiety. There are so many good possibilities with high chance of working you get to the point of analysis paralysis really quickly. BuSpar immediately went to the top of my list when I first searched for treatment options. For better or worse, my doctors have not mentioned it yet. If I were in your shoes, I'd strongly consider asking your doctor about it and maybe giving it a go. I'd need to know more about how your anxiety is expressed to feel more comfortable with the idea. It is a quick one to try since it starts working in a week or two for most people. Initial side effects are similar to those of anti-depressants. There are also a number of drugs that are used off label to help with anxiety (katvay for instance). If you would like, feel free to start a conversation with me if you have additional questions (as I don't think the OP is going to be looking at the same drugs you need to use). In terms of being able to get an erection by yourself, a little PDE-5 inhibition can do the trick. Those drugs work despite how your mind wants to interfere.

    My current med definitely would effect my sex life if I weren't single. However, I am pretty sure a PDE-5 inhibitor would make it a non-issue. In that case, I'd say I would be a better man overall and pretty ideal for the right woman (one with high libido).

    I believe everyone should have some creative outlet. I found that it helped - a lot - to write when I was hitting a real rough spot. I played some instrumental music and wrote lyrics to them, whatever came flowing. Putting it into words made it more manageable.

    Yeah word . I eat 95% vegan - no eggs, minimal dairy. I’ve done it for about 3 years now and haven’t had any health issues. The problem now is I just eat less food, so nuts is a good suggestion for filling up, thanks man.

    Yeah, when I forget to take my meds or skip them cause I'm feeling alright I get positively crushed. But I'll look at options for sure.

    I really appreciate your input man, I have the day off tomorrow so am gonna go on a tasty shopping spree. I think not eating enough makes a bigger difference when you’re not completely aligned otherwise.

    Do you mean PIED? I actually didn’t have any problems with ED for the first few months off PMO, it came creeping… I was hoping the tunnel wouldn’t be further away than a year lol.

    Hey man, I don’t really get happy from using antidepressants; I get sedated. The meds are there because I have a real hard time keeping calm (both physically and mentally) and I keep burning out, crashing, and then going into overdrive again. These meds keep me around 50% all the time instead of constantly peaking and then dipping. But I am talking to my health providers.

    Not a lot of sun where I live :(

    I want to say that I’m really overwhelmed with the response from you guys. These things are hard to talk about IRL since I don’t know a lot of people going through similar situations, and just end up feeling like I’m dealing with all of this alone.

    Yep, I totally overlooked the possibility that you may not be getting enough calories. If that has happened for a long time like you say it may have, then lowered libido could be the direct result. When I used to be involved in nutrition and bodybuilding, men would cut down and sometimes lose much if not all of their sex drive. I know when I am well-fed things are looking up more than usual in that department.

    Ey guys, just wanted to update. I've been hitting the carbs as hard as I can, eating plenty of nuts and having three meals everyday. I'm not all there yet but I first had a nightly and then I had someone over and no ED. Thanks a lot, the push helped :)

    Like you said it's been an year with the nofap and 16 months of no porn, that is a good achievement. But what I think of flatline is it happens because the sexual energy by nofap is stuck and needs transmutation. When we all practice nofap the sexual energy is created for a while and gets plateaued after a certain period. Due to this we all experience flatline,
    Thus to create energy we need to not only practice nofap but we have to practice some other methods.
    Some people suggest Edging, like not really edging for hours that gives blue balls but playing with yourself for a while and also not till the point of no return, just stimulation and end it there. But what I have experienced is it doesnt help much and is bad for the brain as it supplies lot of dopamine and might be a potential relapse instigator. So don't even think of edging.
    Next is Kegels,
    This thing works on amazingly good levels, they them and you will definitely get to see the stagnation in the energy down there clear up and start getting morning wood.
    With this pumpkin seeds are a great add ons. And also 1 glass of buffalo milk as buffalo milk is still better than hormones laden cow milk.
