New Fapstronaut
I signed up to this site to tell you my story , reasons why I quit pmo and the benefits that come with it.
I was fapping at least two times per since I was 12 and as the years went by regular porn was not enugh anymore ( I dont want to put triggers , all of us know how it is).
Deep down I knew that I have a problem but it seemed impossible to stop.
In past three years I tried to stop but best I menaged was 20 days. I should also mention that my expirience with women and social skills in general are nothing special.
I had a girlfriend 2 years ago and some occasional sex if I get "lucky" , but never truly made emotional connection with any of them .
It was back in september last year I had exams to pass and it was a very stressfull time for me so as usual I fapped a lot . Fapping took to much of my time to study so I failed those exams.
I felt like my whole life is falling apart and decided too change myself , I needed a fresh start and the first thing to go was porn and masturbation .
First month of my reboot was tough , I even edged few times urges were very strong but my desire for change was stronger.
I started to feel better my confidence was boosted , social skills were better than ever.
In the next two months I felt that my old habits are fading away and urges were much weaker. It was on christmas day that I have completed my reboot and I remember asking myself do I really need this shit (PMO) anymore , and next 9 months flew by.
My tips
1. Take each day seperatly
2. Get a hobby or something too keep you busy
3. Start reading books it will keep your mind of porn (too me it was best to read before sleep becouse I used too think about porn in bed in first month of reboot)

4. Stay of the social media like facebook instagram twitter or youtube they can be very triggering

5. Go to the gym to boost your testosterone and confidence even more

6. If you want a girlfriend get her the "old school" way by talking to her face to face
7. Dont visit nofap too much your brain will rewire quicker if dont think about on which day you are or the word PORN OR PMO

I the and I dont know how to describe how proud I am with myself those exams I failed changed my life
I finnally feel like a MAN

I too am aiming for a year.

Agree with all your points.

What is crazy, is that... Even in the throes of PMO addiction two years ago, I somehow got a girlfriend by doing it the "old school way." My shyness and anxiety were brutal but I asked her to dance. And it worked.

Too bad I fucked that up later the next year.

Thanks for sharing. Gonna help keep me on the straight and narrow. Quitting drugs and other dopamine draining activities are helping me tremendously. I have almost no urges. But I believe I am flatlining something major. Should level out by New Years.

And yes, fuck social media. Facebook is my go-to PMO site. Unfortunately.

That is a good idea, I shouldn't revolve my life so much around nofap...while I do keep very busy doing other things i generally check nofap a couple of times a day...maybe I should decrease that?

As much as this community is a major support, I would say to tone it back. I check maybe once a day on average. Even that is too much. This is so much more than a streak or record for me. This is me using my time wisely for more productive endeavours. Learning a language. Hitting the weights hard. I'm going to enroll in a TEFL certification shortly in hopes that I'll be able to teach English abroad somewhere.

The NoFap phone app (say that a buncha times fast) is a good stand in for the forums. Killed many a edgy urge, it has. Highly recommended.

On that note: Day 30 draws to a close. Fuck yeah. Never going back, guys.

I come to vist NoFap when I had a brain fog, Nofap forum can help me clean that by the atmosphere of brotherhood here, dude. In other situations you don't have to visit it too much.

Thanks guys, I'll try to lean off this site a bit.

As always...DON'T GIVE UP!!! PUSH IT!! GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to one year! Totally relate when you said that you had a girlfriend for 2 years and some occasional sex "if you got lucky" but there wasn't any emotional connection with them. Majority of the girlfriends I had and even my wife to this day I met online instead of face to face. Face to face is always better because you can feel the true emotional connection with someone IMO. Keep fighting the good fight brother!
