During no PMO, I am having a hard time to focus on the tasks at hand as I am still on a few dating apps and every now and then it'll pop up. I'll then keep on going back and forth on it even though, during this quarantine, these girls are not going to meet up (or at least not most of them will).

What have you guys done about it? Although deleting these apps makes sense, but my desire to have sex has increased so much now that I have been rationalizing not to, leading to a vicious cycle of lack of focus and constant distress.

I got myself off every dating app once I realized that a lot of the people I was talking to weren’t open to meeting in person, having financial or mental issues in their lives (to the point on the last that would hinder my own ability to have a relationship...nothing wrong there, but it’s something I cannot deal with right now in my own life [my ex was extremely anxious and suicidal]), or were attempting to catfish me. I only strive for in person now. The only noteworthy exception I feel more comfortable with is Facebook Dating, to avoid a good majority of the bots, but otherwise am no longer on any others.

  3. Delete it. It’s really not worth it. Quick dopamine hits keep you in the pixel cycle. It’s hard but we just have to talk to girls in real life the way it was intended

  4. I am not fond of online dating apps. Well anymore. Its a waste.

  5. I second your thoughts. During this Corona lockdown, I made a profile on many dating apps, and the photos would arouse me so much that I was about to relapse, somehow I controlled myself. In my experience, these apps will waste your time and nothing else. I talked with many girls and they just wasted my time. Apps are not worth it. They can trigger you and you will be lost from your path. Stay focussed.

Cheers for the response guys, I think y'all are right about the negative implications of having such social media apps on the phone on our NoFap journey. Its like even if I am on a good streak, I am still going on these apps and trying to chat up these girls whilst mentally playing out the same porn that I am trying to avoid. Which just goes on to show how much powerful the mind is and how much power it has over you (when you let it drive your lower consciousness behaviours for months, years, and even decades). I truly truly hope that we can get control back over our minds bros, because otherwise, all we are are chimps living in skyscrapers.

  8. Avoid dating apps man even after you get cured, its just w waste of time, theres more to being attracted to someone than looks, theres chemistry and values and morals compatibility.. plus looking at pictures on some dating apps is like looking at p-subs, you are setting yourself up to eventually fail.
