Online Roleplay (Text Only)

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Jul 15, 2019.

  1. Hey guys...

So I've gotten pretty damn good at the whole NoFap thing. I really don't stroke the meatstick anymore since 2015, but I still struggle with some addiction related issues, some involving sexual things.

I am hoping now to get everyone's take on roleplay in chat rooms. No, it's not entirely sexual... yes it always gets sexual... no I do not touch myself at all. It is interaction with another person on the other end, which is different from porn. But it is also through the computer, which is similar to porn. A question arises, with maybe some obvious answers... why not just go out and try to make this situation/life happen with all five senses in the real world?

What do you guys think? I go back to it in phases every once in awhile thinking it's okay, but then I end up quitting and thinking it's not okay. I'm conflicted.

Most people on this forum can’t get to 100 days of no PMO let alone 4 years @Phallosopher

But maybe you are still holding onto that extreme dopamine rush and you haven’t reached your full potential. You go back to the chat rooms to self medicate even if you don’t MO. Are there underlining issues with yourself, your career, your family? You don’t have to answer that to me, but maybe you should seek a therapist to help you navigate the deep layers of your identity that need to find resolve.

I think this is a great idea, role play like what you've been doing is a great way to get practice being spontaneous and taking the initiative in a safe environment, but it is crucial you push yourself out of your comfort zone and take what you've learnt and put it to use in getting to know people in the real world, who knows where it might lead.
