  1. I agree. One person once said we fap whenever the coast is clear :D.

  2. Social media is dangerous. I've kept Twitter for the local news.

    I'll try meditation.

One of the many things on this journey which motivates and inspires me is this; curiosity.

Curious about how life will change over time as I refrain from pmo.

I know what my life looks and feels like when I'm a porn addict (wretched) but not what it might look and feel like in 1, 2, 20 years time having completely eradicated this for me damaging and compulsive behaviour. I need to know whether sobriety brings me closer to feeling inner peace, self respect and contentment in my life (news flash - it already is) and how this impacts on all the other facets of life in general.

I like where it's going so far, it seems to be a big part of the jigsaw for me so in it for the long haul.

  6. More like healing the emotional vulnerabilities that cause us to want to engage impulsively with pmo in the first place.
Day 0. My longest streak was 93 days.

As a very curious person myself, this is also a reason I’m in it for Life as well.

  9. You should've waited at least 31 days before posting.

  10. I hope you're joking. Otherwise, you have a lot of learning to do if you think that someone's ability to give helpful advice is related to the number on their counter.

There is a success stories subforum which requires 30+ days in order to create a thread. Anywhere else, I can type as much as I want.

You want to see what I had to say then? Go find my 30, 60, and 90-day progress threads in that section. But I guarantee I am a lot wiser now than I was then.

    Have a good day. :emoji_arrow_down::emoji_arrow_down::emoji_arrow_down:

  11. This thread is for people with 30+ day streaks. You don't fit the description!

  12. And you don't fit the description of someone who is open-minded.

Imagine making a thread titled "How do I make money? ***ONLY PEOPLE WITH $1,000,000+ CAN POST HERE***"

  13. Funny story! I'm in my apartment by myself for the day. I guess my door is closed :D.

    220 days.

These are assumptions, but I think they are valid. You've identified that you want to recover. You've identified that PMO is weighing you down. You've identified that you want a different life and that you don't want to be enslaved. So, the problem is not that you were an addict, the problem is that work need be done in order to make the change you want.

Say someone wants to learn a new language. It is not necessary that they avoid other languages in order to do so, in fact that doesn't even come to mind! So, in order to learn a new language you have to practice speaking it, and practice and practice and practice. The only thing stopping you is you. There is not some other language out there in your way.

In this "analogy" the new language is a new life (without PMO), and some other language is PMO. You simply keep practicing your "new language" until you've mastered it. The key idea is that you don't need to avoid PMO per se, you just have to go out and learn a different way of life.

It also helped me to say that sexualizing women is not okay. You may disagree but you can say it to yourself over and over again until your mind gets it. After all, there are many other dimensions to a woman's life then can be categorized. Similarly, there are many other dimensions to a man's life. Sex need not be the center of our existence. Again, you may disagree, but you can tell this to yourself to keep any illicit paths at bay.

  18. This is an important piece of information! I stopped thinking about anything sexual. My life is betterthan before.

  19. This is true. We need to do new things to break the routine that's destroying us.

I completely agree with the fact that sex shouldn't be our center of attention. There are times when we can think about it.

  20. I'll find time to meditate. I'm doing something else. I'm watching something like moving pictures in my head without offering critique or praise.
