It really is pause. my life has been paused for the last 12 months because of this dark hopelessness called PAWS.

12 months is not that long, take it as a sabbatical year for resting.

But obviously you are able to give priceless advice that applies to thousands of participants in here. Wow.

Again, wow, for your epiphany on that one. One might surmise you must be a medical professional, telling by the unquestioned certainty you exude. By the way, my humble belief is that most medical staff is unaware of the stuff exchanged in here by people who must know, namely those who are experts of our body and soul: We, Us, Ourselves!

Again, wow. Marvellous how you can know without a doubt since we are all unique and people like me benefiting tremendously from abstinence. Just to inform you, NOFAP indeed is not only about abstinence for good, but also a possibility to find back to a normal sexuality. By way of talking and exchanging experience. Something you seem to condemn in here in the first place. Well, I am damn grateful for this possibility and as I already said, benefit greatly.

This is pretty pathetic, as sufferers in here are more experts of their own experience than doctors, psychotherapists and so on.
Ever heard of those success stories when it comes to addictions and 12-Steps? I guess no, again telling by some great proportion of ignorance you display throughout your post.

    Oh boy.

In summary, somehow I think your reply in here is garbage. There might be better ways for you to boost your self-esteem than to expand your invalid expertise in here. Talking about mental issues, self-esteem problems and the like....you may want to look up the term "projection". Could be another epiphany for you.

I had to do the same. I had no choice really. I lost 20 kg of weight because of stress of job, paws and nutritional deficiencies. They were pretty scared as to what was happening with me. I can say I'm glad covid came up otherwise if I would have been in a different city because of job, while the paws came up, god knows what would have happened.

  9. Thank you for sharing this. I relate much. 20 kg is crazy amount of weight loss. Only this by itself can cause much of discomfort and sensitivity to stress, cold, anxiety etc.
Ayurvedic knowledge helped me to map some part of me and caused changes because during reboot I started to be totally Vata dosha dominant in body and mind. Now I'm trying to rebalance.

I’ve said this before but it was a blessing to figure out the source of PAWS during the pandemic (despite the fact that the virus has obviously been a horror for humanity generally). Something good to come out of a very bad situation. Though now I’m dreading everyone wanting to do things while I’m still in fairly bad shape...

  11. I can't believe I'm still having PAWS plus sexual exhaustion, still bed ridden. I'm confused to even make decision. Sometimes I see things big or small. I've never had those issues 3 years ago even in my heavy pmo days.

    Hey guys,

I have noticed some interesting things along the journey that I wanted to share. As many of us know, going through paws we'll have periods of feeling flu like symptoms. This has happened 3 times along my journey so far. The first time, it took me 2 weeks to FULLY shake it off, the second about a week and finally this third time about 3 days or so. Its good progress! I don't actually get sick, my stomach just gets all buggy and I get hot/cold and muscle aches. I'm still trying to figure out what triggers the flu like symptoms, my theory is when I try to gradually do more over time, at a certain point if I push too much to my bodys current capacity, it kicks back with the flu type symptoms to force me to rest.

For reference 210 days free from porn, 1 MO relapse on day 72, 138 days free of MO.

Baby steps, we'll get out of this. We need to stay positive

Does anyone here know anyone who has recovered having sex (or being heavily aroused regularly) during PAWS without PMOing? Because I only know guys who made it out hardmode. I know NoFapSuccess2018, a guy in his 40s on Reddit, who is still having PAWS after 3+ years because he's having sex regularly. This would be something interesting for me (and I bet all of us) to know more about as usually the advice on YBOP for instance is to rewire with sexual intimacy. Nevertheless I feel like it's a really bad idea regarding PAWS. What stories do you guys know, or what are your personal experiences?

I know Gabe Deem the founder of reboot nation got out of Paws while still having sex.

I am currently still in Paws and have sex with my wife pretty regularly. I don’t feel it has much effect on me. I actually feel like it helps rewire my sexuality to her and only her which is my ultimate goal. I never really went through a flatline, although and didn’t have PIED. My symptoms usually gather around anxiety, depression, crazy weird headaches that creep up from the back of my head, dizziness, and fatigue. The things that I have found that really trigger a wave of PAWS where I knew that it was triggered was when I tried Prozac for 5 days and it threw me into DEEEP PAWS. Other lowest I’ve been and the day after I tried to test myself with too much alcohol the night

Just a bit of info on myself. I am 39. Started P when I was about 11. I am close to 500 days PM free. I also gave up a pretty strong chemical dependence on Marijuana at the same time I gave up Porn so some of my PAWS symptoms could be from that, but I never crave weed, and do crave Porn sometimes. That’s been my journey so far. Everyone is different on this thing so if you feel not having sex works for you then do what works for you. I have never been interested in gaining superpowers from retention. My main goal in this entire journey is a happy marriage, which i can happily say is better than ever.

Has anyone had balance/co-ordination problems resolved? Since PAWS struck I'm extremely clumsy and my sport performance has dropped dramatically from a very competitive level to below average!

Is this another symptom which will be resolved after PAWS?

About a year ago when I first crashed really hard I had very bad spells of what I found people on benzo forums calling “boatyness,” where I felt like I was on a boat or like I was being pushed and pulled around by some unseen force. This came along with a lot of weird sensations in my neck and a feeling like I couldn’t hold my head up, which led me down a rabbit hole of reading about people with chronic fatigue syndrome who traced their problems to craniocervical instability (Google Jeff Wood if you want to read more about the connection. Truly infuriating how this guy was - unsurprisingly - gaslit and ridiculed by doctors until his own theory of what was causing his problems was finally proven right).

These symptoms have gotten much, much better and I rarely deal with them now, though I still do have problems with my neck like clicking, grinding, and a fair amount of recurrent pain. It’s hard for me to know to what extent these are chemical/neurological symptoms and to what extent they may be the result of genuine physical damage. Again, I’ve noticed a lot of parallels between my PAWS and the way people talk about benzo withdrawal, and it seems like there may very well be a component to both that’s due to damaged connective tissue (I made a separate post about this a while back: https://forum.nofap.com/index.php?threads/my-paws-story.294898/). I can’t find them now but there was a guy on YouTube withdrawing from benzos who made videos about how he learned his neck was really messed up and how he got help with prolotherapy.

I know some people here have compared PAWS to ME/CFS, and I strongly believe that there may very well be a common pathophysiology. It seems like maybe the intense stress that PMO places on the body can actually induce the same types of problems that for other people are set off by Lyme, or Long Covid, or getting “floxed” by antibiotics, or taking benzos, or whatever. It’s a damn shame nobody is researching any of these things in any systematic way because I suspect there are a lot of patterns and relationships that would be unearthed if anyone cared to look for them.

Thanks for the response, I’m pleased to hear that your balance issues are resolving. Whilst mine aren’t that intense to feel like I’m on a boat, the potential for recovery is still cross comparable.

Yeah I was actually diagnosed with cfs around 8 months after the start of my PAWS in a stage where I still had no clue what was going on with me and was continuously relapsing because I thought it might be a way out. My body couldn’t handle it and completely shut down for a long time. Really glad to have put that behind me and hoping that PAWS was indeed the cause so that once I’m through it there isn’t a reoccurrence of cfs in my life again.
