P.A.W.S. - what are they, cure, duration

    Keep it up man, by time these symptoms will disappear. Pressitence with a good routine will help a lot.

    I have avoided sugar, caffiene, and sleeping around 9:30 - 11pm. While staying away from fantasizing, and edging. Yesterday I noticed my eye strain symtpoms almost gone. Like really if we put the efforts of having healthy lifestyle recovery gets better.


    I'm sad because it's weekend and I edged badly today... This has been a phenomenon for a while when every weekend starts i get on autopilot to edge. Now everything is under control... I feel the process of this month is gone.. I almost relapsed but faught not to do so..

    At one point I was going to look in to setting up a group here in Nofap for people going through long term heavy / physical withdrawals. However, as with everything currently in my life, I just haven't had the energy to follow through. But this might be something to consider? I'd certainly check in with it.

    So I am convinced you are onto to something. I decided to start taking maca root also - unfortunately where I am based we do not have a doseage as high as 30g so I have opted for a smaller dose until I can get my hands on a higher doseage.

    In short, yesterday was a strangely positive day. Solid performance at work, brainfog seemed to have reduced, and while I was somewhat tired after work, I spent 4 hours writing yesterday evening. Something I haven't done in a long time. Coincidence? Maybe. Progress? Possibly. We will see what happens. The same brand Black Maca should be arriving next week so ill be interested to see its affects for me - if any.

    Maca root directly increases dopamine levels so its logical that you will feel a positive effect from taking it, what this means for long-term recovery though I don't know. The reviews seem to be mixed from what I've read. Some say it's amazing, some say they feel no different and others have said that it works for a few weeks but then the effects begin to wear off, regardless of what dosage they're taking or frequency.

    Personally I'm a bit wary of taking anything that has neurochemical-altering properties but I understand why others may try it.

    I have also decided to give it a try. Its not to expensive so why not? I have ordered some black maca but in the mean time where i live only sells normal maca so im giving that a try. Its been a few days since i started taking it, not much changed since then but i am feeling better today. It has been about 2-3 weeks of rough symptoms for me so i was expecting to be feeling better around this time. Ill need a few weeks i suppose to know if anything is working

    I have ordered the exact same product suggested by Grateful, but because I am overseas it has cost a lot more than if I was based overseas. Also currently using a less potent type of maca root until the stronger product arrives.

    I am conscious of what @OhWhenThe said which is that for some people, Maca works for a short period and then effects wear off so let’s see. I have used Maca before earlier in my reboot, and it simply sent my libido through the roof. However conscious that it wasn’t organic black maca at such a high dosage so we will see.

    @Ezpz did you order the same brand recommended also?

    I have only ordered the 1000mg standard black maca so i will give that a try first. If it works i will end up ordering the higher strength stuff

    Just a word of warning - be careful. Urges hit me like a truck yesterday and I barely made it out "alive".

    I'm going to take a day off the stuff.

    It really worries me that you can be 2+ years clean but still be on the verge of caving once the urges come back.

    I could quite happily live with no libido but at the same time believe a strong sex-drive is necessary to feel good in all other areas of life .. it's a bit of a catch-22 situation.

    You have to remember that recovery is subjective. It will be slightly different for everyone. My cave and your cave might be somewhat different.

    What else does "barely making it out alive" mean if not being close to giving in and relapsing - which is what I meant by "caving"?

    I never want to watch P or PMO again, or even MO, but I can't guarantee I won't when the urges strike hard. That's what scares me.

    Sorry I actually misread your first response there - I agree it was a scary thing.

    Caving might have been a tiny overstatement as I would never go back to PMO, but I hit a point where the urges were so strong that fantasy's started to pop into my head with the urge to just have a release. This might be a better way of explaining it.

    I was wondering if anyone of you have had social anxiety during paws? Its been my biggest symptom combined with anhedonia. After i quit weed 5 years ago it got worse also.

    Anxiety is one of my core symptoms too after tiredness/lack of motivation.

    @sikreodds97 I don’t know your individual situation and this information may be cliche, but I would seriously consider picking apart your lifestyle choices and diet in general.

    I recently discovered that my depression was largely influenced by intaking a high amount of sweeteners. I was so focused on working out (to recover) that I didn’t realise that the sweetener in my vegan protein shake was playing a key role in my depression and anxiety.

    The only way I realised this was by noticing that whenever I didn’t take the protein for a few days by brainfog and general mood would lift. A quick Google search and studies showed that sweeteners in excess have a nasty effect on your hormones. An issue that many others currently experience. Since dropping the protein shake for natural clean protein, my mood has stabilised.

    As I said, pick apart your lifestyle choices and experiment if you need to. There might be something deeper at play.

    The thing is, its all PAWS. I have in the past 5 years dealing with paws tried EVERYTHING. Some things lessen the paws and etc, but i still dont feel emotions, have insane anxiety, etc. PAWS is just PAWS, there is not a quick fix.

    Yep i got it pretty bad aswell. It leads you to become more isolated. Even forcing myself into social situations is just not fun. Not to say i never go out however.

    As for the a anhedonia thats just as bad. Constantly being bored by everything that is not P. Your life just feels dull.
