Just another update, fantasies stopped yesterday followed by my brain dull aching at the front today that has progressed to the point its 10/10 in terms of uncomfortable, its the worst I've experienced it in 17 months. I wonder what is happening inside there, but I feel like shit, and am just lieing on my bed, its like having a really weird migrane, where you can feel your brain pulsing and throbbing and moving in one specific area of your brain. I hope it means its doing some deep healing

UPDATE: just spent 2 hrs wrapped in a blanket on the couch with my eyes closed as it felt like someone was doing an operation on my brain with no anaesthesia, and then something pops and my brain goes kinda of gooey and nice, and now i feel okay again, and it feels like half my brain is numb and been cut out. Crazy journey lol, no one besides you in this thread will ever understand what we each go through

UPDATE 2: woke up at 4am from a nightmare with the sweats and crippling anxiety. Was having these types of events happen in the first 6 months of my recovery, first time in probably a year. The last relapse I think has set me back a bit

Hmm im not so sure i have what you are describing. I certainly have tension behind my eyes on my worst days, also i get a lot of brain tingling now (if you can even call it that) which actually feels good to me, though it is strange. Sometimes that tension makes it hard for me to concentrate on things. Sound and light feels way to sensitive when i am struggling with the worst of it. Stress is a big player in a lot of these symptoms, i also think it is a major factor in why we are taking so long to recover.

On a happier note i am 1 day off my 1 year mark. 0 Relapses or slip ups so far, though i have had a lot of wet dreams.

Yeah its like a dull ache/throbbing that can some times turn into pleasant tingling. I had a relapse at month 8-9 which was 48 hrs of cocaine porn and sex, that really made this brain thing go worse. I have no idea where Im at now on the continuum of recovery

    Hello,

I am 27 years old. I have been addicted to masturbation for 12 years.

I am now in nofap challenge since 135 days. But today, I feel very low, weak and something weird in my heart, I feel that my neurological response of my organs is very low and very weak, my arms and my legs move slowly. I measured my blood pressure and I found it low 110/66.

Is there anyone experienced these symptoms during his reboot even after 4 months of nofap ? And when they will pass away ?

Also, is there anyone succeeded in nofap challenge, passed all withdrawal symptoms and fully recovered ? Because I see all people here are suffering even after one year or two years of no PMO !!!

You are saying that because you work with porn industry ... Evil !!!

  6. Quitting porn do work man. It's what fuels masturbation and orgasm. Also excessive porn cause brain fog and some other withdrawal symptoms but still MO is worse.

  7. If porn doesn't cause anything to you, it doesn't mean it won't cause anything to others. I've had muscle and joint pain, light flashes, head pressure, brain tingling, lightheadedness, low iq syndrome and extreme brainfog just to name a few of the worst symptoms. Porn will also fuel the need to masturbate and orgasm which will worsen the symptoms. I've tested streaks with just porn watching and eventually these symptoms will get milder after a certain period of time without it.

I'd be careful with statements like that since this forum is all about recovery from porn addiction that has ruined the lives of many people even if they don't get these extreme symptoms many people on this thread have.

Blood pressure 110/66 is perfectly healthy.

You are trying to deceive me .. I was perfect and in good health when I was masturbating .. these health problems appeared only when I stopped faping .. I am sure that they are withdrawal symptoms. I want just to know how to deal with them and when I will fully recovered ?!!

I started experiencing withdrawals before I knew that withdrawal from porn was even a thing.

10 days into quitting and I started to feel hopeless and borderline suicidal, I was so wrecked with anxiety that I couldn't eat and when I did try I was nearly sick. My sleep became all kinds of messed up and I would flip at the smallest of things. Thankfully this subsided after about three weeks, I don't know if it would have come back again at some point but I only made it to two months so I don't know. I'm now starting to go through it again but I'm better prepared now, though it doesn't really make it any easier.

This StarRider guy is obviously one of these people who will dismiss something unless they experienced it themselves. I don't know what he hopes to achieve by telling people on what is for the most part a porn addiction forum that porn addiction isn't real.

Just to update for future generations, today feel way better, gone from 10/10 brain aching and anxieties and overall well being 2/10, to 3/10 brain aching, 3/10 anxiety, and 7/10 well being in space of 2 days.

Posting this as at this point in journey I've come to accept that how I feel at any given day isn't indicative of being a permanent state. At the beginning you might panic or think things are stagnant, but they do change and fluxate, and the above is just evidence.

Will keep everyone updated, 30 days monk mode 17 months overall

It sounds like some of your symptoms could be caused from withdrawal, though it might help to ease you mind to go and get checked out by a doctor if you are unsure.

Some of us on here take a lot longer to recover but yes it does happen. Most people recover a lot quicker than us so this thread is usually for the worst of cases. 6 to 24 months is not uncommon here. Just keep going man and see if your symptoms improve over time. 6 Months is at least a good time frame to think about.

Excellent man, keep the updates coming. Glad you are starting to feel a little bit better.

Accepting the worst days doesn't make it any easier to get through but it does give you so faith that things will get better.

  16. I'm at 9.5 months and my symptoms are worse than they've ever been. Cravings have also been high. Is this a sign of anything?

Just an update from myself at just over 1 year PMO free.

I had an very decent 'good' stretch last month with around 2-3 weeks of feeling overall better. Most of my symptoms in the month got much easier to handle over that time period. I became more optimistic, motivated and energetic. I also found that i wanted to isolate myself less. During this good period i had times when i thought i was going to go back into a horrible flatline and all the symptoms returned but i found that these periods only lasted a few hours or half a day and then i would go back to feeling better again.

After that period came a stretch of 1-2 weeks where all the withdrawal symptoms came back. This included periods of high cravings, high anxiety etc.

That brings me to around now where over the last week or so I've been back in that 'good' period where everything is easier. I am still extremely up and down each day, but that is a huge improvement from the 1-10 months i had experienced previously where i was basically a zombie. I am seeing small moments of clarity on the odd occasion, which is nice. I feel as if my brain is starting to slowly work again. My thoughts are overall more positive and much more thought out. My memory is still not quite there as i often lose my train of thought very quickly. In general i can speak to people a lot better and my sentences are improving. I have time periods during the day in which i just feel a lot calmer, instead of frantic and exhausted.

I am sleeping longer than i should be and i wake up pretty tired in the morning. This could just be down to my tv use before bed. My bedtime ritual could do with some improvements. Even though i struggle to get out of bed, i seem to be okay after a coffee in the morning. Coffee now gives me more of a boost during my good period, which is great.

Not much more to report. Things are getting better for me, though my recovery is still far from over. A reduction of symptoms means i can now see through the months much easier. Even the worst of days i can go through with some faith that things will continue to improve.

Well, i think i was the same around that time period. I started to finally see some decent improvements at the 11 month mark. Hopefully you will see some improvements soon to, just keep at it.

Also relapses also factor in to your reboot time so make sure you are being truthful to yourself about any that may have impacted recovery time.

    Hi,

I suggest that you read through this thread from the very start. There are many of us here who have experienced symptoms for 4 months or longer, so you're not alone in this respect. How long it might take for you to recover is anyone's guess. However, there are people such as Don Quixote who have recovered.

To put it another way: you have nothing to loose by quitting, and it will take time to see meaningful results - but they will happen if you can give it enough time.

I'm in a pretty miserable state more than 30 days after giving up porn having been seriously addicted and suffering all the classic symptoms on PAWS, flatline etc, but even I can see that this particular thread on this particular website is hardly representative of the general population . . . it would be good if there were some scientific or at least representative survey of what happens physiologically or psychologically after stopping addictive porn/masturbation behaviour which had been going on for maybe decades before. If there is, I haven't found it, but it's surely not here . . . If there was someone who could answer your question 'yes' would they be here to answer? I hope such people exist!
