First of all, if you are experiencing chest pains you need to go to the Emergency Room. No one on here is a doctor and it is better to be safe than sorry.

I have dealt with panic attacks and anxiety for several years now. It is not fun. I have actually experienced some mild relief from my anxiety while taking the NoFap challenge. However, I can see how this challenge might cause a person great anxiety.

So, to answer your question.... maybe.

Panic and anxiety are difficult things to diagnose because they mimic other ailments. I have had chest pain, stomach pain, nausea, lump in my throat, tingling head, tingling extremities, depersonalization, feeling that I am going to die, feeling that I am going crazy, feeling that the world isn't real, as a part of my panic attacks. I also tend to get headrushes along with a shot of adrenaline out of nowhere. My hands get sweaty and my heart can sometimes race. All of this is scary, but once you know it is a panic attack you can deal with it a little more easily.

However, and I stress this point, you have to rule out other more serious conditions before assuming it is only a panic attack. So, if you're having chest pain, go to the ER. Otherwise, go see your GP and tell them what is going on. They are there to help you.

    Stay well!

Whenever I'm not fapping, I also sometimes get anxiety and panic, especially from writing. My chest doesn't hurt, but my body tensed up and felt tightened and I felt a little miserable, making me want to do something else rather than just stare at my paper or the wall, even though I wasted a lot of time not doing my homework.

Of course, if you feel genuinely ill, by all means see a doctor, but what you describe sounds to me like withdrawals.

An excellent article on withdrawals is found at yourbrainonporn.com

    Here it is:

If it is a withdrawals, then to answer your question, yes it IS normal. In fact, it is a good thing because it is the one sure sign that your dopamine levels are lowering back to a pre porn level. Dopamine is the only reason we watch porn--it gives us a dopamine fix. When we quit pushing the porn button, if we have been pushing it long enough, our brain, which has become accustomed to that high, gets mad at us, so to speak. It does pass, but a lot of guys report going through that for a while.

    Peace.
