I'm so glad you're still here with us! And, I'm even happier to hear that you are feeling great! I understand the regret, but you are free now. Look to the present and the future and all the great things you're doing/going to do! You got this, my friend! :)

You're welcome and thank you! Food sensitivities are a royal pain, I know.

I appreciate your kind words on GAD. At this point, the aftereffects of the latest episode are fading. As for my GAD going away for good... at this point, that is not likely. That's why the doc and I elected for a longer term treatment. The same is true of my clinical depression. I've had that for over 25 years. It's also well-managed. Some brain chemical imbalances don't ever change. It'd be great if these do, but I'm not setting myself up for disappointment. Thank you for your support! :)

Well!! My case have been going off track, I am about to complete 5 months mark of Nofap hardmode, What the problem was that I never knew anything such like withdrawals of pmo, I remember on Day 10 I started getting weird symptoms like panic attack and anxiety and since then I was busy in finding what the fuck is happening with me. I started getting heart palpitations and by mistake I googled my symptoms of Heart Palpitations and since then Google made my symptoms worse and I developed fear of heart disease and suddenly with fear I went to Cardiologist and he didn't find anything wrong with my heart, but I the withdrawal from porn. kept my fear increasing and I stopped excercising and walking due to fear of cardiac arrest.
But During Day 35 around I found that the withdrawal from porn causing all this since then I started getting panic or anxious regarding although feeling well but my mind somehow believed Google that something is still wrong with my heart and I became house bound.
But last I got this that I am suffering from PAWS and I developed fear of Heart Disease from withdrawals and had all sorts of heart tests and it's fine. Although my Heart Palpitations r very less but I am trying my best to overcome from this Cardiophobia.
I would have recovered earlier but My fear and on top of that Phobia made my nofap worse but now I have started walking.
But I am also getting all of those symptoms regularly.
But I believe I took wrong way of Nofap.

Let me tell uhh guys, I never had any anxiety or panic problem, I was very brave but This addiction caused all this thing I can't believe. I was addicted to PMO for 7 years and last 3 years I started watching Extreme Genres and BDSM porn.
Let's see how long it goes.
I am hoping I will get my life back but when don't know.

Best of luck., @Anurag12! I understand exactly where you're coming from. I've experienced many things like that, too. Since I do have generalized anxiety disorder, that made it even more difficult. It takes different people different amounts of time to heal from this. I hope you heal soon as I know how frustrating and scary it can be. I'm not 100% healed yet, but heading in the right direction.

Thanks. Good thread. Well now I know that I can't say nofap hasn't worked yet after only 50 days. I was just reading about succubus and they are energy beings that try to take human energy through things like sex addiction. So I think they could create some of these things to keep feeding on their host. So I guess after a while they go away. Also I think other than withdrawal, PMO just causes a lot of damage to the body that takes time to recover. So on the one hand there is recovering the damage to the body. That's different than the withdrawals itself. But the body could just be severly damaged and take time to heal. The brain, too. that's also hopeful because it means that 50 days isn't long enough for me to be at my full potential. And my full potential is much higher than my current state. My physical or mental capacity at maximum is much higher than it currently is. So it gives a reason to hang in there and not to do any more P M O.

I also wanted to say that I was reading a lot about electro-sensitivity which means being sensitive to the radiation from stuff like smart meters and cell phones. And how that can weaken certain people more than others. So while staying off PMO is also important, I think that if the electro-sensitivity theory is true, I might never really reach my full potential for well being due to the ubiquitous wi-fi and other EM radiation. One solution is to get a farty cage bed canopy or set up my whole room as a farty cage but its expensive. I wonder if the people who sell these farty cages are partly involved in hyping up the worry about EM sensitivity. Also maybe the studies showing people to be EM sensitive had more to do with the subjects using substances or PMO but mistaking that for EM sensitivity. Believing in EM sensitivity is a hard path to take because it puts me in the place of a helpless victim, but maybe I am! And admitting it would be the first step. If I get the money I want to try a farty cage around my bed.

Hi, @PMO addict! First, I *think* you mean "Faraday cage," and not farty cage. Unless there is a very unique form of technology I don't know about. ;) No biggie, it will just make it easier to find info, etc.

Second, I do believe EM sensitivity is a real thing. However, I would advise (just my opinion, feel free to ignore it) that you not focus on it now. Even at 52 days (CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!) you are still early in your recovery. The chances are more likely that you're experiencing healing from your addiction than that you are experiencing EM sensitivity. Of course, it's your decision, but I'd hate to see you spend a lot of money on something you may not need. Better to wait until you're further along in your recovery, I think. Again, just my thoughts.

In any case, congratulations again on 52 days! That's an awesome achievement! :)

I think symptoms r more creating all this, I also get overwhelmed joy and sometimes severely depressed but my main problem is heart anxiety. Although I am walking and my heart is healthy. But something is stored in brain that is not going, How did u manage all these sensations in body?

I agree that it is probably withdrawal symptoms. Your emotions will definitely fluctuate like this, too. There will be days of great joy mixed with days of depression, and even some anger. It’s a normal part of recovery and will also pass. When you say heart anxiety, do you mean that you feel something physically happening with your heart or you are simply worried about your heart? Withdrawal can sometimes cause feelings of anxiety. That might result in fluttering feelings in your chest and even an increased pulse. This is not typically a cardiac problem. The best thing to do is distract yourself and try to relax. Meditation may help, exercise may help, and if it gets too bad, you can see your doctor for temporary medication. For me, I already had an anxiety disorder before I started recovery, so I was already under treatment. There is also a magnesium drink called Natural Calm that helped. I also meditate, practice good self talk, and do my best to exercise. Walking is a good one. If you have already been to the doctor and the doctor has told you your heart is fine, remind yourself of that when you are feeling these symptoms. That will help reduce your anxiety, too. I wish you the very best and please feel free to keep in touch. I’m headed to bed now. All my best!

Thanks for Ur help brother, I never had depression or anxiety problem, but since nofap I am worried about my heart although tests r alright. My Dr. say this is happening because of anxiety and yes I have fluttering sensation to which I get panic and then it starts racing.
I wish I never watched porn this would not have been the case. I think psychiatrist can only help me in this.

I'm 11 months 'hardmode' and have been very consistent with my reboot process. This is my first and the only attempt so far to abstain from PMO and during these 11 months I never watched porn, I had no orgasm (no wet dreams too), so I suppose I did the best possible. I have many symptoms described in this thread. Interestingly many of them were persistent long before I ever abstained from PMO. I spent many years in porn business and my job was running adult websites, so besides having porn addiction myself my brain got additional damage from the excessive porn use because of my job too.

The main improvement during the reboot process is reduced brain fog and depersonalization, these are almost gone. Concentration is up too. Depression and anxiety are still here, these symptoms worsened suddenly around month 6. With the help of medication (AD) it improved the last few months, but I'm still far away from fealing fine.

I also used to get lots of physical symptoms. Muscle pain and tension (neck, shoulders, back, jaw), pain in the chest and throat, yawning, headaches, pressure in the head, burning skin, weakness in legs, extreme fatigue and myriad other weird sensations. I'm taking sulpiride to reduce somatic symptoms, but I still have them, but in lesser degree.

This thread gives me some hope, because I must admit that in recent months I was slowly loosing my faith in nofap process not seeing much improvement in my physical and, especially, emotional condition.

  15. Hi mate I can truly sympathise with having these symptoms for years. I think overstimulation/withdrawal kicked in for me about 6 years ago and I didn’t even know what was going on at the time. Probably the same with yourself. I was fapping myself deeper into the void without knowing how much more pain I was putting myself through, mental.

I’m only starting to feel happier 8 months in literally a week or so a go it seems my anhedonia has lifted a little bit. Still a hell of a long way to go though.

You're welcome, man. I would take the doctor at his word. From your description, you are having anxiety issues... the fluttering and racing heart. That's a normal part of anxiety. If you're doctor can't prescribe an anti-anxiety medication, then maybe see a psychiatrist. Ask your regular doctor first. Stay strong!

@DarkSektur How long did it take for PAWS to subside in your experience?

@saneagain If you're still masturbating while trying to overcome this syndrome then it is no surprise you continue to experience PAWS. MO is likely depleting your dopamine levels and also reactivating some the neural pathways related to porn consumption.

    Hi guys!
I did not experience paws, but to the risk of repeating myself (i did a long thread on the subject) ejaculation and orgasm are extremely draining for the body, and long term high frequency of ejaculation can really f*ck you up for a long time. Not only because it exhausts the body, but also because it drains many cerebral chemicals and hormones, thyroid is highly used up. When i used to masturbate, i had this horrible states where i would feel immensely drained and at the same time extremely alert and anxious. In this state my thoughts were kind of strange, and i would not be able to sleep. Sometimes i even had stomach troubles!!! Even myself, who is well aware of the cost of ejaculation on the body, could not believe that ejaculating messed up my stomach and caused me to fart and shit liquid.
I believe long term sex abuse can cause severe cerebral and physical symptoms, which can take months to heal and recover. Even though i am on nofap since 2 months, i have a feeling if i did not masturbate so much in my previous life i would have much more available energy. And please note that i have never been an extreme masturbator, nothing more than 3 - 4 times a week when i was a teenager.

@Vedas_fr Do you mean by "previous life" the old you i.e. before NOFAP, or are you referring to a past life incarnation?
