I am having a though time with loneliness. So I am browsing this forum and I find it peculiar that the following 2 things coexist:
    • A bunch of people who say are lonely
    • The same bunch of people who spend a lot of time on the computer/internet
And yet they (we) don't reach out or respond when people reach out to be Accountability Partners or chat buddies.
Is this the Paradox of NoFap and society at large? I find it peculiar.

Just looking to open up a discussion, I am trying to understand and probably be a bit less lonely.

  2. Internet has connected the world more than its ever been yet we are so disconected from one another in our relationships/friendships/etc

Well, even though I'm lonely, I'm relatively new to this forum and to NoFap in general so I'm not aware of the chat features or the Accountability Partner thingy. I should probably read the wiki or something.

Hey. It is far better to be alone than in bad company :). In my life my friends are almost all drinkers and drug users.... So i decided to quit drinking which means i quit socialising how i used to. Lets face it, 90% adult social events are about becoming entoxicated!!! I wud rather be alone.. At least i can have some connection here... My idea is just to have to find real life places that arent centred around getting stupid. Its actualy pathetic that the only way we can enjoy ourselves is from a damn poison! Much prefer to not destroy my body mind and spirit for some pleasure. I find other ways to socialise now. Not as fun true. But life is about WORK not fun! Am i right?

You are 100% right.Gladiatori. Because I have traveled so much, I've noticed that people in developed countries use alcohol as a way of letting loose. They are so constricted in the way they live that they need some outside poison to make themselves feel good. I'm guilty at this too because I have done a lot of drinking in my life.

Let's face it making and selling alcohol is $1 billion industry. They have sexy girls and handsome guys advertising poison. In a society where the demand is so high on us to become great and achieve more, make more money, have the perfect life in the perfect soulmate, we need a release. The easiest release is to eat right, work out, and spend time with your higher power. But this is a lot of work and some people would rather go to a bar or restaurant grab some greasy food with a lot of salt, have a few drinks they get drunk, and call it a night.

It took me many years to realize that alcohol is not good for you. I still drink once in a while but not at the level that I used to because I see its damages to people and myself.

@iceman40 yup exacto. People mostly are not aware qbout the truth of their relationship with alcohol, because its accepted controlled legal substance; everyone does it!! In reality it is a hard drug. Personally i cant touch it. If i do i cant stop and i go on a binge... I wasnt always like that but now i cant drink socially at all... Oh well. I am much more alert and present now. A good trade. And no alcohol means i dont succumb to p so easy too :). Its like q domino effect

Yes my friend you I are very alike when it comes time for a drink. I want the whole dam bottle until I pass out. Then the next day it's a blur and takes me 2 days to recover. I can't even drink wine or beer. Now vodka or scotch. Anyways I'm reducing my consumption of alcohol quite a bit. It's not good for me and it damages my body greatly.
    Thanks for the great post.
