    Hello.
I have a specific problem. I'm a perfectionist by nature. If I start something it's need to be just perfect in every possible aspect... When I'm starting a new streak, I'm going all in to rebuilding myself. Cold showers, meditation sessions, working out, reading, productive stuff... But when something goes not like I would like to, for example I embarass myself, skip some daily activity, waste too much time on trash activity or just fail at something related to NoFap my instinct instantly tells me - "It's pointless, you just screwed up your entire streak...". It's not about sexual activity, edging, peeking at porn or something like this, I just getting frustrated at everyday situations, because of that I cannot mantain a long-term streak... Anybody have been in similar situation? How do you handled it?

Well you should not overload your day. Introducing more than one habit at a time is also overloading. Just one habit is enough. Focus on your work which can be career. Just make your day simple. Don't frustrate because something didn't go your way. Things never go the way we want. It is necessary to learn to accept things .. understand situations. Finally never work for results. Don't excite yourself with thinking of the results. Just focus the present moment. Focus on work...just do..don't think of outcomes ... It will lead you to frustration if the outcome is not as expected. Learn to get dopamine because of you are working..not just dopamine for outcome. This will keep you on right track as it did for me.

I read somewhere 2-3 days back..
you dont have to be perfect .. you just need to keep it going..

I started with yoga 3 weeks back.. Ideally I target that I'll wake up early morning and I'll do yoga daily.. but not able to wake up early..
But I dint left yoga.. sometimes morning.. sometimes evening 5pm sometimes 8pm and sometimes before sleeping at 11:30pm.. but I am not going to leave it.

sooner or later my brain will get tired of me..
I am not going to stop so better my brain should start signalling to do it in the morning itself..

and it happened today.. I woke up early 10 minutes before alarm clock.. even after sleeping at 2am in the morning...

you dont have to be perfect .. you just need to keep it going.. thats the first stage of creating a habit.

  4. Fighting perfection is pretty difficult so I did the next best thing- I compartmentalized it. Each task is now treated as a separate phenomenon for me to perform and master.

It will improve a lot of things for you- skipping a workout one day will no longer make you want to relapse or give up on some other- now unrelated- activity.

The more you can fragment and narrow down your perfectionism, the more it will help you instead of just feeling like you have OCD.

  5. Yeah I'm kind of like that. Right now my philosophy on NoFap shifts between two different methods. Method 1 - try as hard as you can to meet as many goals as possible, as this will reinforce your NoFap habits. Method 2 - don't worry about falling behind in some areas (ie. video games, being a little lazy, not working out) and instead put most of your focus on NoFap as this will eventually allow you to recover in those other areas.

I've mostly been trying Method 2 and I've been maintaining high streaks. I'm not sure which would work best for you.

Try to prioritise things/goals in your life and do your best for most important things. And try to be kind and forgiving toward yourself when you have faults. We're not saint and we can't be perfect.
