I found a very interesting video on Youtube about the neurology of addiction by Todd M. Frye a PhD:

Dopamine release on its own from porn without the closeness with someone else leading to oxytocin release leads to the feeling of emptiness and a hangover afterwards. The pain of the dopamine hangover leads to the addict being overwhelmed which makes the addict go back to the porn. Every time you reinforce the bad behaviour you burn parts of the brain, your brain is less sensitive to dopamine and you require more and more visual stimulation (porn) to release the same amount of dopamine. The brain is neuroplastic and the less these pathways are used they start to disappear and new pathways are formed for good habits which lead to normal amounts of dopamine being released. Anything that causes an excessive or abnormal release of dopamine damages the brain and can cause addiction. That’s why he says there needs to be moderation so the amount of dopamine released is a normal amount the way in which it was designed rather than these huge doses.

“It’s easy to think that’s just a pervert but there’s a whole neuroscience behind these addictions”. I think that the addiction to porn leads to being perverted due to the brain changes. People become that way by getting addicted to porn and there’s no use in judging people just makes them feel ashamed and leads them to go and watch porn to numb those negative feelings.
