so I am curious about everyone’s flatline symptoms and how they differ or are the same to mine. I am currently on day 200 of my reboot, yes I relapsed once during this time I porn when I had a serious anxiety panic attack, but it literally lasted ten seconds and I turned it off. And I have stumbled upon some things on the internet, not porn but things that gave me those bad thoughts. I try to avoid that stuff as. I h as possible. I have had sex with my wife 4-5 times during this. I have been fighting physical symptoms for th least 2-3 months such as
    1) prostatitis
    2) lower back pain
    3) ache in right testicle and down inside of right leg
    4)penis numbness/desensitization
    5) anxiety increase
    6) constiption

Is anyone else having these issues this far into a reboot? And if so have they cleared up further into your reboot? All of these are occasional and come in different flare ups and at different times. Some days I feel perfectly fine and other days I feel horrible and feel like it’s never going to be fixed. I’m also starting to wonder if I need to go see my doctor about my lower back and if it’s causing some kind of nerve issue. Thanks for any insight guys.

I am a couple of months short of two years without relapse (to porn at least.)

I have noticed a crazy amount of random and seemingly unconnected physical and mental symptoms throughout the reboot. My experience has been pretty similar to yours in that symptoms come on randomly and always cycle through. Some days I feel great, others I feel like shit.

In addition to the more common reboot symptoms of depression, anhedonia, fatigue/lethargy, headaches, emotional numbness, cognitive and social issues, etc. I have also experienced some random physical symptoms.

I had cold/flu like symtpoms on and off for about 3-4 months a little after the one year mark. I went to the doctor and had multiple tests/bloodwork done and he couldn't find anything.

I've also had random joint pains that cycle in and out, a lot of leg/hamstring issues as well as some shoulder pain.

Of course, it could all be just coincidental that this stuff flared up during the reboot but I honestly doubt it. I've never experienced most of these symptoms in my entire life (at least not close to this extent) prior to rebooting.

I just think that for hard cases like myself, our bodies are mind are just out of whack. I think that withdrawal symptoms can manifest themselves in a lot of different ways as our bodies and minds are healing and trying to get back to equilibrium.

I would say, don't hesitate to go to the doctor and get yourself a full checkup for your own peace of mind. Of course, there is a chance that you could be dealing with something completely unrelated to your reboot.

But if everything comes back clean, just chalk it up to your body and mind going through withdrawal and trying to heal itself. Every single one of my symptoms have cycled through- some may randomly reappear later on in the process and some may linger for a while. The trend is undoubtedly positive though and you will get better over time. I have seen many other accounts on here and other forums with a similar experience.

It's pretty much impossible to predict the time frame of a full recovery as there are so many different variables involved and everyone's body chemistry is different.

Just be confident that eventually you will get back to 100% (or more) of your pre Nofap self.

Everything is temporary. Stay patient and just keep pushing though man.

I am never short of amazed at how supportive this group is. Man I can’t thank you enough for those words, I know I use this forum a good bit when my symptoms start to get me down and the better of me and then comes a post like yours to really help get me back in the positive mind set. Thank you very much for your reply. I set up a doctors appointment with a spine doctor for ztvursdsy this week, just to make sure I don’t have any doc related issues going on. I do remember about the same time I stayed my reboot I injured my back trying to pick up a miter saw with poor posture. Now whether that’s the cause or not I guess I wil find out. I really would not be worried but the off and on penis numbness and tingling that seems to just come out of nowhere real freaks me out. I can deal with a little prostate pain and lower back pain but that always gets the best of me. I’m really hoping it’s just my brain trying to get me to go back to my old ways. I will keep you posted on what they say. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply, it has been the complete opposite for me though, these symptoms have gotten worse with time. I never had these problems until about 3 months into nofap and they are progressively getting worse it seems like. I have days where I feel like a million bucks then wham, not so fast.

Have you ever had desensitization or numbness in your penis? This is my biggest worry/concern of all of them.

I have never had any of these issues. I’ve lost sensitivity in my penis and experienced general dead dick and lack of horniness. These symptoms seem more serious than a flatline.

Whose symptoms are you referencing? I have general dead dick as well but every once in a while for a couple of hours it tingles and shrivels and almost feels numb.

I’m a prone masturbator I expect my reboot will be long and intense.

  14. I've been experiencing all kinds of odd aches, pains, and sensations that come and go. I know a lot of it is typical wear and tear from over activity and aging, but some of it I never experienced before reboot. Some nights I'll lay awake worrying that I'm dying from some degenerative disease, and then feel perfectly fine the next day. I'm starting to learn to ignore my brain and all it's trickery.

I have never experience any of these issues. I am set up for an MRI tomorrow night and will know the results the next day. It is causing me a lot of mental anguish cause I don’t know what is wrong with me. I know something is going on with my lower back because I can feel it, but hopefully they will find nothing and then I can be better prepared to tell myself it’s my brain and it will pass eventually. I will update his once I find out.

  16. Were you a heavy user?? How many years have you attempted reboot for? Do you still feel symptoms?? Have your symptoms improved since attempting nofap?

  17. Numbness no not really. To be honest as much as I M I always had enough time in between to have sex with my wife. But there were times where I felt like the sex was different because I had M the day before for hours. But like I said the more you stay away from p and M the better real sex and body contract is

Day 75 for me and libido is absolutely ZERO. Dick feels tiny and lifeless..I’m waiting to turn the corner but it’s not getting better! The flatline sucks!! I want my horniness and attraction to women back!

Well turns out I have a bulging disc in my spine that might be causing some of these problems. Whatever you guys do, always use good posture when lifting things. I have no clue if bad PMO posture and such for so long played any roll in this, and I will never know. But at least I now have some answer to the tingling sensations and such going on. Not sure it explains my bladder and constipation issues though but we’ll see.

  20. When you lift weights, form over EVERYTHING. If you repeatedly lift weights that are too heavy without proper form, something somewhere in your body is compensating and it’s going to be the wrong part of your body doing the lifting which will hurt yourself and cause damage. Go to a chiropractor to get that bulge fixed!
