PLAY-A-LONG NITE@ FRED's GARAGE! (26 JUNE 2020 -NOMINATE NOW!!)

CALLING ALL HIPPIES, MODS, ROCKERS, JAZZERS, METAL-HEADS AND PUNKS...

Why not join me, this Friday (and every Friday), at a members-only, fantasy gig at Fred's Garage (legendary secret rock/pop/dance venue...), by nominating a favorite Band and song to be played on the gig-list that week.



So who's up next?? An old favourite?...rock anthem, house, blues, funk or eclectic choice? Only one nominated song per week please (with link to video if you like, but please be conscious of triggering images/ lyrics etc).

All you have to do is to claim your club membership below, if you have 7 days or more consecutive sobriety. I will add you to the members list below, and open up nominations for the gig-list on Saturday morning for the following Friday. To increase your fun and participation, you might like to play a couple of the nominations on the designated Friday night at your own home version of "Fred's Garage."

Unfortunately, if you slip during the week, you have to self-count another new, unbroken, 7-days sobriety before you start nominating again (but we'll hang on your membership card in the meantime).

AND THIS fRiDaY (26 June 2020) there is a PLAY-A-LONG NITE - pick your favourite tune that you intend to play along too, the following Friday nite (guitar, bass, one-finger keyboards, biscuit-tin for drums etc!). NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN!!

Well this is crap... I am the only member in my own club! Ha! Still, who cares, am celebrating 7 days no P today. I might be the only member, but this is a club I like!!!

 

And I get to nominate the first song to be played this Friday... "Changes" by David Bowie (appropriately enough!) #dosomethingdifferent

So many to choose from - am definitely am going to run this theme challenge again in a couple of weeks.

Nevertheless... my nomination goes to Thundercat, "Show You The Way"!

I know there's hundred's more funky tunes than this out there, but I am always blown away by that crazy video (and Recovery message) and the amazing contributions of old-timers Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald. Have a listen on Friday if you haven't done so already!
