PMO Brain

    can someone explain what does this mean ? Normal brain is completely solid looking but PMO brain has holes in it. Are there actual holes in our brain or this scan tells something different. Can anybody plz explain ?

    I’m no expert but my understanding is that with addiction, similar to clinical depression or anxiety, it causes certain parts of the brain to physically shrink. So I don’t think those are holes in the image rather just parts of the brain that have shrink.

    I don’t know how those scans were conducted, CAT Scan or MRI, but my guess would be that due to the way imaging is done it appears as holes on the image, but if it were the actual brain you were looking at I think it would appear more as parts of it being shrunk.
