PMO-Free Commitment thread for April 2021!

    The purpose of this thread is to provide Rebooters with a place to share their commitment to abstaining from particular sexual behaviors throughout the entire month. Although it is strongly recommended to make a public commitment, posting in this thread is not required for participation in a reboot.

    New to reboot? Here are some suggestions:
    1. Learn about porn addiction, excessive masturbation, and abstaining from PMO (a process called "reboot" or "rebooting"). Our free Getting Started guide that is advertised everywhere is a great option.
    2. Decide if abstaining from PMO is something that you really want. If you don't buy into the process 100%, you'll probably not make it through the month. If you have decided that you would like to participate, proceed to step three.
    3. Sign up for this month by replying to this thread.
    4. Consider setting up a PMO-tracking day counter to monitor your progress.
    5. Create a Journal Thread and share your progress periodically, preferably on a daily basis. Not only does this help you stay accountable, it documents valuable anecdotal evidence that will ultimately help other people going through similar situations in the future.
    6. Ask questions and get support by posting on NoFap. Help others, too, if you are able to.
    7. Get an accountability partner.
    Would you like to participate? If so, please reply to this thread with the following information.
    • Are you not going to allow yourself to masturbate? View porn? Orgasm whatsoever? Not allowing any outlet for sexual release is dubbed "hard mode". For a full list of parameters, see our Rebooting 101 page.
    • How long do you want this challenge to last? By default it is one month, but 90 days is recommended for rebooting. You can't know how long it will take to "rewire" your brain, it widely varies due to individual circumstances. Some people require a year or longer to regain sexual function.
    • What are your goals?
    • Why are you doing this?
    Coming in after this month has already started?

    Don't panic - it is not a problem. Users sign up for NoFap's rebooting events all months long. Just follow the instructions above and jump in at any time by replying to this thread.

    hello I want to participate in this event

    1)I am on hard mode
    2) I want the challenge to last for 3 months and then from there on most likely forever!
    3)I am doing this to improve my memory and mental focus and my confidence in general, I have read people who completed no pmo saw improvement in their mental focus and memory and this has motivated me to get on this journey

    - My goal is to not feel the urge to watch porn or masturbate
    - I have noticed I feel a lot better overall & more confident as well as motivated when I substain from masturbating for a period of time (doesn't have to be long). I would guess these effects would only be stronger over a longer period, but unfortunately my addiction usually wins the battle against my willpower after 3-4 days & I'm back to feeling like shit. I'm fed up with the cycle. I'd rather just not be addicted & it would hopefully motivate me to hook up with a woman instead of relying on porn.

    2) I want the challenge for 3 months and then from there on mostly forever.
    3)My goal is mainly to quit this addiction and this daily habit that has been destroying me slowly making me a human zombie.
    4)I wanna do this for better focus and concentration , zero fatigue and lethargy. After PMO sessions I can't think properly due to brain fog killing my whole day resulting in zero productivity. And who doesn't want a healthy and good relationship.

    hi i want to quit this start monk mode as i am a student and wanted clear my boards from 95+ percentage and clear jee and should stand on my parents wishes i would to end this never ending pmo cyle please help me.
    i want a great personality and should able to attaract peoples around me ... i want to start a new life as i am masturbating from last 5+ years ........

    hi id like to join - as chane would have it i initiated hard mode at 11pm on 31st March - Ive been porn free for 31 days before that - just decided to go hard mode as porn was no longer pulling me back in...im seperated from my wife and my sexual issues were hidden from her. This is me trying to be a better man. So far im on day 12 of no MO - and day 43 of no P. im gettin g hit by urges and need someone / something to help me from going off the deepe nd - is anybody there?

    2)I'll start this challenge initially for 30 days then increase the duration for 90 days.
    3)I'm doing this because I'm fed up with porn.I can't keep up with my normal activities as it interferes my work.

    I want to be 5 weeks without masturbating, watching porn/hentai nor ejaculating. Probably will need more time to get the brain reboot.

    Why am I doing this?: I am addicted to masturbation, porn and sex; I was masturbating almost everyday (sometimes twice a day, exceptionally trice a day) and thinking constantly in sex, which ultimately caused me an almost total lost of sensitivity while masturbating and ejaculating (and gave me some worries about my penis health and sexual habits).

    My goals: Get a brain reboot, recover a normal sensitivity, stop the habit of thinking constantly in sex, stop masturbating constantly.

    I have been watching porn and masturbating for one year and during this period, I have tried to quit many times but ended up in vain. I have to quit it, it has already taken a toll on my studies and relationships. I hope that this will be a life-changing one.

    20th April 2021 was my first day. I had urges at different times but controlled them. Also, I used the emergency button whenever I had an urge. From experience, the coming days will be tough. I hope that tomorrow will be a successful day. Wishing everyone out there participating in this challenge to find success in their attempt.

    It's been two days. I still get urges and scenes of porn that I have seen come to mind at times. But using emergency button, I managed to avoid the urges. At one point, I was at the verge of relapsing but I didn't proceed. I did feel happy at the end of the day. I hope and believe that other Fapstronaut can leave porn and masturbation and live the best life that they deserve.

    I feel better and now I can sleep without guilt burning my inside like acid. I am grateful for this platform, because knowing that I am not alone in this struggle and seeing other's success do give relief and encouragement. To other people those who have relapsed or fighting urges, make use of the "Emergency button" and believe that you control your life, not porn. Bless all who have shown the will to get up and move forward.

    After fighting for two days, I relapsed. I feel terrible now. But I am going to try again. Choosing Hard mode for 7 days.

    I relapsed again. The saddest part is that you do everything like using parental controls and blocking websites and you give up the use of certain apps for this, you again go back to porn. Internet is bleeding porn. That is not going stop me. I may fail again and again. But I will try to stop this addiction from taking over me. I hope that others will also get up and try again.
