    As a PA working towards recovery how long does it take to realize the damage you have done in current or past relationships? Are you ever able to see how badly it hurt those you love and the emotional damage that comes with it?

    I understand that addiction is a tough battle and commend all of you working through it. I have supported many people in my life faced with drug and alcohol addiction but this is so different. It directly affects how your partner feels about their own body.

    It is sometimes hard to tell, I know it has hurt my wife self image at times but it is getting better. The main thing that hurts is PIED, I will be good to go some days but not others. Or I am good one minute then next 5 minutes soft again. What I have realized over time is that past relationships that I had weren't really built on anything. I was always about getting some and never tried to truly learn who that person was. So a lot of my relationships went stale and I didn't know how to save them. It was almost like they were superficial. Hope that helps some with your question.
