Porn is a big problem in Norway.

Im hoping the problems porn is causing will be revealed to the broader public, and articles like these are certainly helping.

It doesn't surprise me. The more 'liberal' a country is, the bigger the sex and porn addiction is.

 

Budh I totally understand why you may think that the more a country is liberal, the more the addiction exists, but I am not sure its really an issue.
First of all you don't have any proof for that, or at least show us some statistics that say this.
Secondly its kind of dangerous to say these opinions. What do you mean ? We should not be free and we should not have free internet because
human is vulnerable to addiction ?

 

Wow you really have taken offense to a simple comment, maybe you don't understand. I wasn't trashing Norway. Anyway the west in general is very 'liberal' in promoting unhealthy habits like pornography, drugs and alcohol. It's the breakdown of morals in favor of greed.

 

I am not from Norway and I am not offended, I just pointed out something I did not like it. You say that west is very 'liberal' and that promotes unhealthy habits but its not as simple as it may seem. You have to choose how to form a society between different factors like religion, politic system, economic system. In my opinion living in a liberal country is the best option nowadays. I don't say that capitalism is perfect(actually its far from that) but its one of the best systems we have seen so far. I would not like to live in a country with too much religion or communism or in a world with no free speech. The best thing with liberal countries is that you can be whatever you wanna be. If you want to be addicted to drugs, then yes its your option. If you want to be a moral person, then you can be. None forces you to be something you don't want to be.
Personally I abstain from PMO not because I believe in god or because my culture considers it bad, but because I have seen the negatives of it and I want to improve my life. Being good and kind because someone forces you does not work. It can actually have the opposite results and develop a beast instead of a good human.

Having said all these, I need to admit that its true that a lot of unhealthy habits are being promoted in west world, but there is a phrase in capitalism which says "client is always right". This gives all the freedom and responsibility to the client to choose his destiny. Isn't that amazing ?
