Porn is just everywhere and we all know that, but let's just reflect on it. I love anime. Anime (and this is gonna sound stupid) was one of the reasons that kept me going when I was considering just ending it all, even my life. I know it sounds really stupid, and it wasn't the main reason why I kept going in my darkest times but I would occasionally tell myself "Hey let's keep going for another week to see that episode of that anime". But as with anything, there must be porn around this too. I know hentai and stuff like that but I had this one website I was watching anime and of course, it had a secret section with hentai... Website, that has content that kids watch has a hentai section that kids can watch. Websites with online games that are visited mostly by kids have erotic game sections and even I remember how I was playing these games when I was a kid. Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and even just some random forums on the internet where stuff like this just shouldn't be, are full of erotic communities. And here are just some things that I found: When you look at numbers, roughly 30-35% of all internet traffic is used for porn where the biggest porn page (we all know which one) gets 4 billion views per month. And the funny thing is that porn websites make up just around 4% of all websites. In 2018, there were 109,012,068,000 videos watched on the hub. 34% of internet users have been involuntarily exposed to porn through pop-ups, ads, or misdirected links. One study found that 91.5% of men reported using porn in the past month. When you take a longer look at all the numbers you will realize that we are truly going down the spiral, who knows how bad it will get in 10 years. And of course, all of this is fucking me up because I love to discover and so when I see some weird title or something interesting I click it and then I mess up. But really, you look at these numbers and you realize how bad the situation is, hope this helps a bit to quit this.
The saddest thing is it has become a vicious circle. Women make Only Fans sites, from their traffic on Instagram, Twitter & Tik Tok. Porn addicts subscribe, they make tons of money, more women begin doing it & the cycle grows rapidly. I'm amazed that women can use this as their sole income. We need to all get or stay clean to break down the circle.
It's true folks, this is what we call an elephant in the room. A widespread pervasive problem that nobody seems to want to acknowledge or talk about. It is shocking how accessible it is and it traps users in cycles of loneliness shame and isolation. All we can do really is focus on our own individual behavior and try to support each other in breaking this addiction Godspeed
Exactly, that's why I'm afraid of how bad it will get in 10 or 15 years with technology getting better and faster and people getting more and more hooked on this.
Even youtube has become a hooking app through which women of such nature gets audience by posting sensual asmr stuffs on kinky clothes.. If u search the same things you searched on google before u started nofap, u would quickly realise yt has become porn lite tube... sort of... Twitter, I saw my own mind shifted to twitter once I wrote out my rules for browsing on google and same alikes... Twitter has become like a Shorts of p tube sites with all the accounts of the companies there no wonder the pstars post those.... I had to rewrite my rule book to mention these ''social apps''.. Instagram or FB lets not discuss those u all know,... Whatever account u see, gets written in history pages for those apps and they send u emails or news based on what ur recent activities were creating the same loop u were abstaining.... So there u have it its a wide spectrum to become aware if u really wanna rewire and become true to yourself... U can use these apps in healthy way too but we overlook it when going through an addiction...
Dude it's fucked how sexualized everything is. Hentai is messed up too man, I struggle to watch anime now due to the sexual thoughts I keep having. Fuck people who made porn
Yeah I used to enjoy anime without worrying about triggers but then I discovered the "ecchi" category and we both know where that leads to...
A month or two ago I was watching a vid on youtube about how it's full of explicit content and of course I was curious about how bad it is, so I searched things I would normally search on google and it's all basically typical porn but without showing the full intercourse. As you said, even I had to "rewrite" my rules of searching and even had to block any ASMR search inputs because I was hooked on these videos and they were causing me a lot of trouble a long time ago. And there's no need to talk about Twitter, Reddit, and such.
For a lot of you guys, it's your algorithm. You taught it long before that you like explicit content, so now that's what it feeds you. Algorithms are just a mirror. If you don't like what you see in it, then change it. If you still want to use YouTube but need a clean slate, start a new account with google and don't reward porn adjacent videos by liking, clicking, or even looking at the thumbnail.
This is exactly what I was saying to not search them especially in social apps cuz they can send u emails based on ur recent activity, ofc u can opt out for emails.... And as far as youtube goes, nah, I have seen if I watch any erotic there it doesn't go in watch history also, they wont come if u go there very occasionally, like sometimes uncontrollable urges peeps out of awareness. Also yt has age restricted permissions which will give u enough time to reconsider
You are right, and I think it's not a conspiracy——In the age of internet, the cost of getting porn is nearly to none (financially) in short-term (it is high when you have to tackle the illnesses coming from it). To many people without alert, they fall into a trap that could cost their whole life. However, being brainwashed by porn, morality and rules will be distorted in mind——That's why some people even considered their porn addiction as a part of their nature but overly sexual impulse is not, and should never be. My experience is, cutting off all social media at once is too ideal——We do it gradually. At the beginning I still go to facebook or instagram but unfollowed all beauties or possible triggers, and more importantly, I start looking for something more worthy to do (Mine is gym and reading classics). After a week, I find social media not interesting with nothing much meaningful to read, while there is a lot more fun theory and stories in the world of book and my work, then I start to take back control of my life.
Yes porn is everywhere. Although we need to avoid it, the best success I have avoiding is by filling my life with other things hints to do. So hobbies are a big one. Also making sure I have social interactions (big reason why I try and go to wings every week).
