Hi guys, I am new here. To start off, I would like to put in a very basic question, "Is it good to simply watch porn sometimes (just like any TV series) ?". I've somehow ordained myself from fapping (this is the 4th day), but not from porn. So is it safe to just watch it? Or will it affect my physique?

What do you think? You are in the forum section named Porn Addiction yet you ask whether it's safe to watch porn or not.

No, it's not safe. It affects and will affect your brain. It's much worse than masturbation, so my piece of advice is to get rid of that as soon as possible. Trust me, I know a lot of people that started thinking like you and have fallen into the dark abyss named porn.

My advice is to start again, but now without any porn. No Instagram pics of girls, no nudes or stuff like that.

  3. You need to decide, whether you want to watch porn and masturbate or not. If not, then you need to avoid watching porn, webcams, sexting, chat incognito etc. There is no halfway solutions.

I don't think it's going to help you for a number of reasons:
    • Porn gives you a perverted view of sexuality
    • Porn is very often misogynistic (disrespectful to women)
    • Porn isolates you from other people
    • Porn is addicting
    • Porn is unhealthy for the reward systems in your brain
    • MANY more reasons
I don't think it's safe at all. What you're doing is called "edging", and I believe edging is even worse than PMO. Edging poses major psychological risks for yourself. When you become sexually stimulated, your brain is exposed to a chemical called Dopamine, which is basically a reward for your brain. It makes you feel really stimulated and excited. When you have an orgasm, your brain is exposed to another chemical called Prolactin. Prolactin makes you feel relaxed and satisfied. Many psychologists consider Prolactin to be a means of measuring sexual satiety. Prolactin is released in the brain even when you orgasm from masturbation, but not nearly as much as is released when you orgasm from intercourse with another person (Prolactin levels are roughly 400 times greater as a result from intercourse than from masturbation). Therefore, when you watch porn without masturbating, you become sexually stimulated and excited without ever experiencing release, relaxation, and satisfaction. Over time, you start to build up a dependence and a tolerance on Dopamine, and this can be really bad.

I highly recommend you quit watching porn in addition to quitting masturbation. Porn isn't going to do you any favors.

people in the past have successful sex each time they're turned on. Once porn entered the world, people started to have erection problems cause porn wires the brain in wrong way. The problem of "I want to view porn like any TV" is the desire of toching your junk to be pleasured while scene plays which the damage starts. the only thing I can maybe say yes is to see how sex positions in porn look like. But let's be honest for addicted guys they knew all of that :) So no porn.

    remember those equations
    * life with no porn = fully rock hard + long sex

    * life with porn = full rock hard just when you view + 0% erection with a partner

  6. Absolutely agree. My sex life has drastically increased with my wife in the last 42 days because of not watching porn
